There is a new Spider-Man in the Secret Wars Universe, Peter Urich, “Spyder-man.” He is appearing in Secret Wars Armor Wars from Marvel. This is a cheap spec on an exclusive variant.
I picked up Marvel Secret Wars Armor Wars 1/2 Toys R Us exclusive a while ago. I was participating in the Redditgifts Avengers exchange and needed to buy about $25.00 worth (the qualifying purchase to get one free) of Marvel stuff to send to my gifting match anyway. I figured that I may as well get a comic out of it.
Turns out Marvel Secret Wars Armor Wars 1/2 Toys R Us exclusive the first appearance of Peter Urich, “Spyder-Man.” An armored spider-man with 8 electronic eyes on his head.
Having read the Armor Wars #1 preview it appears that he is here to stay in the story. Who knows if he will survive Secret Wars, but Spider-Gwen sure heated up! Te regular color cover is on eBay for between $3.99 and $15.99 where the Sketch Variant
(which I didn’t even know existed, one per store apparently) is up for $9.99 to $15.99-ish. I nabbed two sketch variants today.
Rumor has it, they plan to destroy the unsold copies.

People should be able to grab color copies at cover price without buying $25.00 worth of stuff if their local ToysRUs is cooperative.

Well, since that deal at ToysRUs has ended, you’ll pay more than cover on Ebay.
You can still stop by a Toys R Us and grab the copies remaining before they destroy them even though the promotion has ended. In fact, they seem more likely to sell them at cover price now than they did during the promotion.
Last week I stopped by and picked up five copies of the color variant for $22.00 total. The guy who sold them to me said “we’re just going to destroy the unsold copies anyway.”
FWIW, the print run for the sketch variant is under 1,000, likely in 800-900 range.
