Comicvine noted yesterday that Lucy Lane would be appearing on the third episode of Supergirl. With a cast of comic related characters filling up, the show sounds like it is going to be good, or at least a good nod to comic fans.

From Comicvine:

Lucy is described as the funny and beautiful sister of Lois Lane, in her mid-20s to early-30s who is the ex-girlfriend of Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks). Expect there to be some tension between Kara and Lucy on the show. As of right now, it’s just going to be Lucy on the show, but maybe, at some point, the creators could bring in Superwoman.

Thanks to our friends at The Mint for Superwoman’s first appearance. Lucy Lane first appears as Superwoman in Supergirl #35 (2005). Cheap copies on eBay have been cleaned out and one copy is listed at $19.99 (there is a set of multiple books including #35 for $15.99 or best offer

Mycomicshop has copies of Supergirl #35 (2005) in VF for $1.60 (but I imagine not for long (2nd one on the list).

Lucy is revealed to be Superwoman in Supergirl #40. Again, most of the cheap copies are gone off eBay. Mycomicshop has this one for $1.80 (third one down on the list).

  1. DC wiki lists her first appearance in Jimmy Olson 36 from the 1950s and her first appearance as superwoman in Man of steel 5 from 1986….. this is listed in several places actually

    1. Here is what I had “Lucy Lane was created by Otto Binder and Curt Swan and first appeared in Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen #36. She first appeared as Superwoman in Supergirl #35”

  2. Shouldn’t that be #35?

“Lucy Lane first appears as Superwoman in Supergirl #25 (2005).”

      1. Its cool – I just didn’t verify the issue number and thought I scored a sweet deal, haha.

  3. Announced that Lucy Lane would be appearing on Supergirl. No announcement about Superwoman. Bad Spec.

    1. With prices and books already moving that point is debatable. It is not always the core announcement that gets prices moving. I have a ton of books like this (I haven’t listed any of these though) that little bits like this help sell.
