Lots of small press books this week:
The pick of the week
Young Terrorists #1– Black Mask has been putting out great books with compelling stories, great art, and tiny print runs. Expect no less from this one. There are a ton of Hip-Hop inspired store variants for this one
Small Press Gem
Hip-Hop Family Tree #1– The book switches to floppy copies from graphic novel. Great story and art on this one. Monthly format could draw in more readers.
The Hot Topic steady seller
Invader Zim #2– Expect this one to be an Amazon seller for years to come. Zim has a ton of fans, especially among the Hot Topic crowd. These early issues will be the ones to have.
The New #1
Welcome Back #1– Great art and a Sci-Fi thriller. Premise sounds similar to the movie Returner, without the hokiness of the ending. Worth the pick up.
The Big cross over
Book of Death #2– Valiant’s big cross over continues this week. First issue was really good, and I am not a Valiant fan.
The Returning Favorite
Midnight Society Black Lake #2– the first issue hooked me. Love adventure books that cross over into fantasy realm. Think BPRD.
I’m hoping Welcome Back is good.. it’s on my list of check it out before buying radar.
Found an xmen #8 in the dollar bins, just in time for the Gambit movie!
Lucky!! I’ve been looking for an uncanny x-men 266 for the wife since that’s her favorite x-men cuz of the whole cards thing. But to pricy and the conditions are not that good ether. But I will keep looking. Like they say happy wife, happy life lol
Picked my 266 up cpl years ago for like 30 bucks. What I’ve been trying to find is a Batman 638. Not even above cover on CBR but going for 20 on ebay. Just because that Jared Leto is Jason Todd rumour!
