With the death of Four Color Grails, we have been wondering who will step in to offer up some comic subscription box goodness. Our friend Court Gebeau of www.comiconart.com is just the man to do it. He is launching Blindbox Comics.
Blindbox Comics is a subscription service currently campaigning on Kickstarter, being backed by creators like Matt Kindt and Joshua Hale Fialkov, which aims to compile the best new comics every month – delivered to subscribers as a complete surprise – as well as exclusive variant editions.
Blindbox subscription service is geared towards both new comic book readers and seasoned collectors, combining the thrill of finding new, great comic titles and chasing scarce collectors items unavailable anywhere else. Each monthly box will contain five comics picked, not by the subscriber, but by a special team of industry professionals dedicated to finding the best new comics on the market, as well as a variant available exclusively to Blindbox. The Blindbox Kickstarter campaign is currently live and being backed by some of the biggest names in comics.
“We’re living in a new golden age of comics. With more great comics than ever, Blindbox is a great way to discover the best of the best.” — Matt Kindt (writer/artist on Mind MGMT, writer of Divinity, Rai, PastAways)
“Anything that brings new readers into indie comics is a huge plus for our industry, and having great people like Court and the gang at Blindbox guarantees high quality and great comics.” – Joshua Hale Fialkov (writer of The Life After, The Bunker, The Ultimates)
