It is nice to give and get. Here is your chance to do both. The Comic Mint is a new Web site doing Auctions for comic related items only (auctions start in January or February, they are doing buy-it-now only at the moment.) They are charging less fees than eBay, and you can list your books on both at the same time. They are doing a charity auction on 100 copies of CBCS 9.8 graded Star Wars #1 (2015) First Prints. Cheap too.
Considering the cost of shipping a book out, paying for grading, and paying for the book to be mailed back, this is a steal.
The 9.8 Graded Star Wars #1’s are $29.95 plus $8.95 shipping. Of the 100 copies they had graded they currently have 95 left.
About the Hero Initiative:
The Hero Initiative, formerly known as A Commitment to Our Roots, or ACTOR, is the first federally recognized not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping comic book creators, writers and artists in need. Founded in late 2000 by a consortium of comic book and trade publishers, including Marvel Comics, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Wizard Entertainment, CrossGen Comics and Dynamic Forces Inc., the 501(c)(3) charity aims to assist comic creators with health, medical, and quality-of-life assistance.
Note: eBay integration and sold item data are coming to The Comic Mint first quarter 2016. Not all features at this time.
That’s a nice price for sure. I couldn’t resist.
so tempted. I have to say.
Do it.. so I’m not the only one!
We can go broke together. When our wives divorce us, we can live under a bridge together with all of our precious comics!
You will have time for your precious comics when you are living in a van down by the river. (Yes I am married to the women possessed by Chris Farley’s ghost)
Instead of living in a van, you can live in a hut made out of your slabbed books! Instant art on the walls.
The sun could damage them. No never. Unless the hut made of slabs is tarped over. Also don’t think the cases are water proof. Anybody want to donate a 9.8 NM 98 for a submersion test (and instant ridicule for videoing it) (also yes, I know they are not water proof)

Leave some space for me under that bridge :p
All are welcome under our bridge. Bring slabbed comics, cans of beans, and booze. Lots of booze.
Flouder, did you grab one?
Yep just did … I know they printed like a million copies but been wanting to pick up the #1 in 9.8 for PC and this is a steal at this price. Plus a good cause
Also its a somewhat hard one to get the 1st print in 9.8… a lot of copies I’ve seen have dirt marks, thumb prints, smudges along that white spine. Plus it did go to 6 printings (at least)
Sure there are likely a million copies of Star Wars but there’s around 15 billion Star Wars fans.. yes, I’m counting those that have already died after the original movies and future fan babies being born right now and within the next few years.. š
hehe
I bought one to give to my nephew for Christmas! Great deal!
Hell of a deal and for a good cause.
Killer deal. Make room under that bridge!
Sometimes I feel
Like I don’t have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry (over our 9.8 Star Wars, I bought one too)
Sucker… š
Does the website still work for anyone?
They were switching over the certificate or something tonight. Check back later
I got my copy today. Not only is it awesome but Comic Mint threw in a gorgeous raw copy too. Love to be pleasantly surprised. Made my day
Nice. I didn’t get tracking info so that scares me a bit. Hoping mine is home too.

I didn’t get tracking but did get a order confirmation from them. Mine came today and yes, I got a gorgeous 9.8 along with the extra raw copy that looks like another 9.8 comic itself. Very nice, very good impression.. I will most likely be a repeat customer with them.
