Agent Poyo's Picks of the Week for Jan 27th, 2016

With all this blizzard nonsense in the Northeast, here’s to hoping there are no delays in you comic book nerds in getting your new books on this fabulous Wednesday. As for me, I’ll probably be wearing flip flop sandals while out getting my books.
Speaking of books.. let’s get on with this weeks picks shall we?
DC/Vertigo Pick:
Suicide Squad Most Wanted Deadshot and Katana #1 (DC) – With the new movie upon us, this is a likely pick up for most fans. It’s a 6 issue mini-series.
Marvel Pick:
Daredevil #3 (Marvel) – I was never a huge fan of Daredevil in the past but with Soule writing, this has been great so far. Most shops seem to under order as I’m also speculating bigger things for this new sidekick of Daredevil’s. The other thing most should appreciate about this series is, Marvel hasn’t really jacked up this character all that much. It’s still Murdock, being Daredevil.. in Hell’s Kitchen.. still doing lawyering stuff… Gotta appreciate the less mainstream characters they are keeping more with the original feel.
strayer
Indie Pick:
Strayer #1 (After-Shock Comics) – A Justin Jordan comic, our beloved writer of Spread. It’s a world filled with monsters and Strayer kills them for a fee.. cause nothings free. I was sold on it just being Justin Jordan writing it.
Honorable Mention Pick:
Dreaming Eagles #2 (After-Shock Comics) – #1 was an awesome read. I love World War Stories and definitely about the Tuskegee airmen.

  1. Daredevil is good stuff! I read issues #1 and 2 yesterday and just finished #3. I love Garney’s artwork on this book and the coloring is amazing. I’m really enjoying it so far.

  2. I’m glad someone else is digging Dreaming Eagles. That was an outstanding first issue and I liked #2 quite a bit as well.
