I haven’t read it yet but from what I saw through quick skim of the book and back page, probably not.
Work sucks right now. We have an ever-increasing mound of work, with an ever decreasing bull pen of attorneys to take care of it.
So, the sweet zen of flipping through back issues was much-needed today on my lunch. It will be a sweet consolation when working until 8 tonight.
All b$tchin’ aside:
Faith #1 CGC variant: There was only one of these at Black Cat comics. Interestingly, Greg said he thought the 2nd print will be more sought after seeing as he didn’t order it and Valiant just sent it anyway. Low Print on 2nd print? Greg got a major kick out of Tony’s CBCS slabbing the CGC variant gag. A legitimate KICK!
Bloodshot Reborn #10: No sketch variant. Still stoked for Analog Man. Valiant’s Old Man Logan?
Carnage #4: Both the Deadpool variant called out by Mel V and the “Swiss Army Knife” variant. Really pumped because apparently Eddie Brock’s new symbiote is INTENSE!!!
Strayer #1: Put down the $7.99 Old Man Logan Action Figure variant to make room to try out Poyo’s pick here. I have the Deodato OML coming anyway.
Old Man Logan #1: I stashed away some of the original Old Man Logan issues for a back issue sale Black Cat is holding this weekend. How do I feel about a third Old Man Logan #1? Depends on how good it is. I have the Deodato variant coming from TFAW
Venom Space Knight #3: This is teetering on the edge of my pull list, but it’s fun and the art is pretty awesome. I kind of like this direction with Venom, but there are dissenting voices.
I didn’t see any 2nd print Faith’s either at two shops.
I was able to pick up Covers A, B x 2, C x 2, D and Cover E (which Mel put as one of his variant picks and I was surprised no one nabbed at the shop which I was 30 minutes late getting to). Plus, I must be honest, I found this character rather annoying in Harbinger, I’m only picking up due to it possibly heating up. I might read it but if they made her anything like she was in Harbinger, well, she was annoying to me. I could see her becoming a movie though, there’s an actress already that resembles her, Rebel Wilson.. 😉
I didn’t either but did not have the cover in front of me to look for it.
Valiant usually uses same cover but change the colors of the Valiant logo or the # on the front. 1st print has a yellow #1 and 2nd print has an orange #1.
My local comic shop ordered so heavy on the first prints that I doubt they’re going to get the second prints in

Both shops I visited weren’t heavy on their orders but I was surprised not many were going after them… so now I’m thinking if these do heat up, might be down the road…. seems Midtown even made more available, before they were sold out on Covers B – D
Ah and Faith is white on 2nd printing while it’s Yellow on 1st printing.
Speaking of Valeant books, did anybody get the archer and Armstrong bootleg comic today.

Howard the duck 1, 2, 3 Gwenpool variants. 1:25 These are drying up for sale on eBay as many are holding and not selling. Time to get on the Gwenpool train now or forever hold your peace. Gwenpools own series #1 has come up for preorder and many are speculating Howard the duck 1 Gwenpool 1:25 variant will reach spider verse #2 1:25 variant prices after Gwenpools 1st book drops. Look for a bump in price in all Gwenpool incentive variant covers This goes for the Deadpool secret secret wars Gwenpool variant as well.
Incredible Hulk #271. First Rocket Raccoon in comics. First cover. First color Rocket Raccoon. 2nd Rocket Raccoon appearance. I have the first appearance of Rocky but this was missing from my collection. Picked up a nice slabbed copy. Guardians 2 is starting filming I expect all the guardians 1st appearances to start heating back up. Gamora’s 1st is going pretty strong lately, as well as Mantis 1st appearance the new confirmed Guardian.
Thor #132. First appearance Ego the living planet. Who the what the what???!?!? Rumor movie leak from a few days ago that this will be the new villain in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 also in same rumor supposedly Nebula plays a much bigger role in the mcu movies Starting in Guardians 2 perhaps prepping her to wield the gauntlet and fix the destruction brought on by Thanos at the end of the coming Infinity movies. Nebula’s 1st appearance is still an easy find for cheap worth a pick up.
On a couple side notes…….
Lucifer premiered this week… I really liked it and I’m sure a lot of other people did. It is done very well and you will instantly like the character from the first episode. Watch it you’ll enjoy it, and want to pick up his 1st appearance (Sandman #4)for your collection. I mentioned this on my pickups last week found one for $20. This show could take off and there is plenty of room for this books $$$ to grow.
Hot topic has a lot of cool Deadpool stuff in store in time for the movie release, picked up a really cool Deadpool throw blanket.
I bought my deadpool tickets tonight for the Thursday viewings 🙂
I’m going to a Friday evening show. I’ll be careful to avoid spoilers on Twitter and such from those who saw the later-night Thursday showings! I mean, I imagine the previews have given a lot away, but I bet there are some surprises in store.
haven’t seen the lucifer show yet but i’m really digging the new comic series by holly black.
thor 132 still hasn’t quite taken off but it shouldn’t be long before it’s no longer as reasonably priced as it is now. also, # 133 is the first full appearance of ego and has a way cooler cover. hard to say which one will be the winner in the long run. the collecting community is notoriously fickle—sometimes people want the 1st “cameo” appearance, sometimes everyone decides they prefer the 1st “full” appearance, who knows. but whatever is driving the collective consciousness on these decisions usually seems rather arbitrary.
look what happened with warlock. first it was ff 66, then everyone went for 67, now it’s thor 165 all the way. i just sold my ff 67 cbcs 9.2 for less than half of what it was fetching 6 months ago. oh well. strike while the iron is hot i suppose. but in comics speculating there’s always major FOMO on the iron getting even hotter.

a few more books with room to grow:
defenders # 44 — hellcat joins defenders.
the top hellcat key book is obviously avengers # 144 (1st app) but with the character recently getting her own comic series, patsy walker appearing in the jessica jones show, and some formulation of the defenders on the way, there’s a good chance hellcat could be coming to the small screen, which could give this book a bump up. especially since you can currently get high grade copies on ebay for about $10-15.
incredible hullk (vol. 2) # 92 — 1st planet hulk.
this book has been steadily going up for a while and it’s already a bit pricey, but if the recent rumors are true about “thor: ragnarok” having a planet-hulk-related storyline, this book could take off.
wonder woman (vol.1) # 204 — 1st appearance of nu’bia.
definitely just a guess but not a longshot. sure, she hasn’t exactly been a major character and the expanding dc movie universe has plenty of other heroes to draw from, but with the ever-growing focus on diversity in comics (finally) i think there’s a pretty good chance that nu’bia, being a woman of color, could get in the mix somewhere.
And don’t forget about the 2nd Print Variant to Hulk #92. It has a sweet Hitch cover.
I thought Lucifer was going to be really bad. Turns out the first episode was really well done. I totally liked it. It’s a buddy cop show with the devil.

Did anyone else see or pick up the Unfollow special edition last week. It reprints the first two issues in one comic.
I feel like I’m the only person who didn’t really like the comic. I read the first issue, shrugged, and haven’t read any sense. Is something wrong with me? Is the 2nd issue better?
nothing wrong with you, my friend. i thought it was kinda lame, too. great concept but just didn’t grab me. and with so many comics to choose from these days, if the # 1 doesn’t at the very least make me curious about # 2 i move on to something else.
I like the book so far but I’m sticking with it more on the hopes that it turns into something great. It’s been ok, but not as great as I had hoped.
I have only read the first two issues, I thought they were ok. I’m just hoping it turns into something more too.
I did not see it. I have multiple copies of issue 1.

1. all new all different avengers 4 – steve rogers and thor odinson kiss?!? I must be really behind
2. Daredevil 3 – more lawyer super hero comics please!
3. Extraordinary x-men 6 – glad they switched up the artist on this one
4. east of west 24 – its crazy that I can like a book so much that still doesn’t give me a clear idea of where its heading after 24 issues
5. outcast 15 – whens the showing coming out?
6. saga 33 – mhmmm
7. southern bastards 13 – I feel like this book is still just scratching the surface of its potential
That’s why I dropped East of West at issue 10.

It’s picked back up since then. I love East of West myself. I don’t mind the slow down’s from time to time with some story telling for the full picture.
I’m having issues with Outcast.. like, seriously, nothing big or wowed me since Issue #1.. I just picked up #15, but I skimmed and I didn’t see anything special so I’m probably dropping it again. Hopefully the show is better.
Most of the time with East of West I get a couple of issues behind so I can read them all at once it seems better that way to me. It is one of my top titles.

Secrets of Haunted House 44 (Lucien from Sandman dies on the first page, but is shown up and about later in the book, Berni Wrightson cover, no spec whatsoever)

Note: I noticed another Ardden printing of We Can Never Go Home 1 just sold for $200 on eBay. Four in a row I’ve seen of $200+.
Glad the Arrden copies are moving. The book seems stagnant other than them. The NYCC set has died. Same with the LCSD box set.

I started out small.. then bought extra copies of Monstress #1 and #2.. along with a bunch of Faith #1.
Then I bought a bunch of Saga back issues cause the wife borrowed TPB 1-4 to read and wanted to catch up.. figured I’d buy some extra single copies (hope she doesn’t destroy them) cause she’s not allowed to touch my copies.

really dug the first issue of cry havoc. feels like it could be a great series.
Cry havoc was very very good, same with Jacked. Easy guy to relate to lol. Question monstress 1 hold or sell atm? Have 4 copies.
Not a huge profit on them but I see them steadily increasing. Over time though. I hate to see you sell them and they move on to Saga prices. You could always do the “sell some to cover your cost” and keep the rest for profit but being in them for cover price or less I wouldn’t push it. It’s the classic do you sell now and leave money on the table or wait and they end up not being worth anything conundrum.

I missed out in a way. I only grabbed one copy, should have gotten more but when I went back they were gone. Would have loved to have grabbed more Saga.
