Blind Adam's Hidden Gems

Blind Adam is a comic dealer in the New York and New Jersey Area, yes he is blind. He has been contributing a fun list each week.
Hello folks. It’s your boy, Blind Adam. Thank you all for reading and supporting my dreams and for all of your friendship and advice. Comicsheatingup.net is awesome. Now let’s make the money on some comics.

Well 18 this week.
1. Atom and Hawkman #39– just watched Legends of Tomorrow. Awesome show . This
issue is the first team up between Ray Palmer and Hawkman two stars of the
show $20 and up
2. Edge of Spiderverse #2 5th printing– Just to clarify. I mentioned
this a few weeks back. 1st Spider-Gwen (well reprinted) and the purple cover is
dark and dark covers always have problems but looking at 5th prints of other
popular books Batman #1 Harley Quinn #1 I can see this book being a
book to keep on the radar $5-10
3. Harley Quinn Suicide Squad Special comes out in April and I can see
this being a book that will make the money. Jim Lee art. Harley Quinn
and Suicide Squad. The 1 in 50 black and white cover is the safe bet.
4. GI Joe #155 IDW reprint-  This can be found in dollar boxes. Three
bucks at most and this is a nice cheap way to get the toughest GI Joe
Marvel comic. Make ’em $10 now if I can only get those movies out of my
mind as they sucked
5. Webspinners #7– quarter bin book that features this movie star called
Deadpool $5 easy
6. Civil War Files– another cheap Deadpool appearance $3-10
7. Empire Magazine Feb 2016 Deadpool cover- $10-20 Deadpool will kick
off the comic movie season and I like this cover and Empire Magazine
is awesome
8 & 9. Batwoman #1 2000 series. Ms. Kane is hot and hot in two ways. As the new Batwoman first appearance (52 #11)is now tough to find,  but this is a great series with
a beloved bat-chick and her new 52 depiction is great $10
10. Batman #436– yes this the first Tim Drake it can be found in dollar
bins $5 tops . But why so cheap when Jason Todd #357 is almost triple
digit stuff ?
11. Batman #428– death of Jason Todd. I voted to kill him, but they
brought him back. This could be $100-150 after the Suicide Squad
movie as I believe the theory that Jason Todd is the Joker might be
true
12. Special Collectors Edition DC Comics C-48– Superman vs the Flash.
Hey people under 25 with your I-pads, before trade paper backs there
were over sized magazine reprints. This was my first comic and
still my favorite. Flash tv show, Superman vs Batman, Flash movie, this
race will happen on screen some way somehow $75-80
13. Greed Magazine #6– 1st Milk and Cheese, Evan Dorken awesomness under valued.
$60 book and this series would be great for Adult Swim
14. Shi-Cyblade #1– 1st Witchblade way to cheap at $12-20. Maybe
one day Witchblade will be on the screen again. It is one of the
few comics with original numbering and some sexy variant covers
15. Secret Wars Action Figure Two Packs– a few years back there were
action figure two packs released with variants of the classic 80s
secret wars comics in them $20 each and cool
16. DC Silver Age Classics– reprinting Brave and the Bold #28 did you see
that DC Special on CW. Did it not make you want to collect and read
and flip major JLA appearances? Well this is the jackpot the money shot
can’t afford the real thing then get the reprint for $5-10
17 & 18. Batman #702– $10-35, not a lot of these online or in the wild. I
like this book for it being a Darkside appearance in a batman
comic. A cool honorable mention is #713 the last Pre-Flashpoint Batman
issue which is a tough find $3-10
as always thank you for everything.  blind adam out

  1. I like picking up Week 52 #7, 9, and 11 in dollar bins. First app of Kathy Kane, cameo of Batwoman, and 1st full appearance of Batwoman.

  2. 1st teamup of The Atom & Hawkman is in The Atom #7. #39 is the 1st issue of the combined series of the two heroes.

    1. It’s actually Cyblade/Shi#1. There were 2 different one-shots, and it’s that one that has the 1st Appearance of Witchblade in it. I’m always surprised to see that one in dollar bins these days. It used to be worth at least $10, huge print run or not. I am a big fan of Witchblade, so I also have the much-scarcer Con Teaser versions, too. Those are pretty low in price, too, these days. Not cheap, but way under-priced.
Witchblade actually ended last month. After 185 issues over the past 2 decades. I am glad they’ve given Sara Pezzini the chance to retire, and I hope she only gets pulled into the Witchblade mythos on rare occasions. Someone else should pick up the mantle and continue the series, though. I thought they were doing it with Dani, back at #106, but that turned out to be temporary and incomplete. “Switch” is currently telling an alternate dimension tale of the Witchblade, but I hear that will be turning into a mini-series very shortly.
Funny, too, that in Cyblade/Shi#1 the story takes place after Sara already possesses the Witchblade, and her characterization doesn’t match what eventually transpired in the series proper. They used Cyblade/Shi to introduce the character, but clearly decided to make some changes before the series began.
