One to Watch: Descender #1

Here we go again. Seems some things work in cycles.
With the news coming out last night that Descender has gotten a screen writer, copies of the book Descender #1 have been moving well again, according to recently completed sales.
CBR had the story that Jesse Wigutow has been tapped to write the screen play.
From CBR:

“Descender” debuted from Image in March 2015, but a film deal was announced about a month before that, in what was described as a “competitive situation,” with Sony Pictures landing the rights. “Descender” tells the story of TIM-21, a lifelike artificial boy whose machine DNA may hold the key to the origin of robots that have decimated entire planets — making him the most wanted robot in the universe.

Besides the 1A Cover and the more desirable 1B Cover, there were the Four Color Grail’s variant, ECCC Variant, Books a Million variant, Painted Visions, Comics Dungeon, and the color and black and white Forbidden Planet Variants

  1. No wonder my buy it now got bought up. Cool news. Glad I saved a copy for myself, I’ll hold onto it for sure now

  2. I still have the 2 that Tony hooked me up with, and I got myself a painted vision 3x signed last September. So this is defenetly great news. Thanks again for the hook up Tony….

  3. I have quite a few tucked away. Anyone still reading it should know it’s a solid comic and series. It’s one of my current favorites and top of my must read list everytime it comes out.

  4. issue 1 was one of the best individual comics ive ever read in my opinion. the rest of the series hasn’t quite lived up to that potential, but stil excellent and a must-read.
also, I know this is unrelated, but did anyone read spread 12 (the molly story)????!!!! wow. just wow. another book that immediately goes into my list of best individual comic issues ive ever read

      1. i agree. obviously the subject matter was horrific. but in terms of a comic making you feel such strong emotions, it was incredible. and yes I think Justin’s letter at the end helped give everything perspective

    1. Those are the ones I see listed the least. I guess it is a good thing I have two copies of each of those, along with multiple copies of the other #1 variants. Let’s all just hope this movie gets completed.

    2. I got the Eh! Variant when it was first released (I had a hiatus of 15 years from buying comic books and this was the first comic I purchased on my return) – I believe the print run was limited to 1000 copies. Not sure if that makes it the lowest print run of all #1s released
