Anyone catch Lucifer on Fox last night? Sitting here watching it on DVR now. First two minutes in not so bad.
What are your pick ups?
What about back issue raids?
What was sold out at your store?
What was sitting one the shelves in piles?
Or anything else you want to talk about, here is where to do it!

  1. Pick ups this week………………
Captain America #5 2005 You hear it first here at comics heating up as no mention of this book on any other Spec sites as of yet. Vastly Karpov 1st appearance Who??? Karpov is responsible for reprogramming Bucky to the Winter Soldier. Karpov will be in upcoming Civil War movie so get this now why you can find it below $5
Birds of Prey #1 Chang variant. White Canary 1st appearance. Only reason I watch Legends of Tomorrow is because White Canary is so bad ass and has a great backstory, she carries the show hands down and her 1st appearance has been climbing.
    Supergirl #8 1983 1st Reactron
    Supergirl #35 2009 1st Lucy Lane
    Batman #40 current. Mask Variant
The Rise of Apocalypse #1 couldn’t pass on $3.00
JSA Secret Files #1-12 1st Kendra Saunders Hawkgirl from Legends of Tomorrow paid $10 for the whole lot.
Avengers #114 1st full Mantis, 1st Mantis cover. Avengers #112 #113 are only cameos of Mantis in my opinion, this book is collecting steam and by the time GOTG2 comes out this will be the book to have.
Mighty Avengers #3 1/50 Eminem variant. Once a sought after variant found one in auction on eBay for cheap.
Suicide Squad #48 This is going to be a heavy hitter! With so many key books to collect for suicide squad it’s no wonder this is overlooked. All these 1st appearances, 1st team appearance, 1st modern appearance for the different characters in Suicide Squad, Joker gets overlooked because we all know in the back of our head we probably will never have Jokers 1st appearance from the golden age. So what makes Suicide Squad #48 so great it’s Jokers 1st appearance in a suicide squad book. This book has been specd on because of the killing joke storyline, but no ones advertising it as first J man in Suicide Squad which by the looks of the coming movie Joker will have a big role.
Suicide Squad #49 killer cover and a continuation of #48 both #48 and #49 are a must.
Suicide Squad #23 first Oracle book is becoming highly sought after.
El Diablo #1 2008 1st Chato Santana rounding out the Suicide Squad keys I don’t have.
Last week I mentioned I preordered my first ever sideshow Statue (premium format Joker) well this week I bought a sideshow premium format Superman. I only mention this because I found it for half its retail price with free shipping (all the way to Hawaii). From Sideshows own website they want over $400 with shipping, I paid $217 on eBay free shipping. I’m not a toy or statue speculator but I would imagine this will sell close to if not more then retail price by the time SuperBatWonderman/woman comes out on the big screen.

    1. Are you finding all these at your LCS in one shot? It usually takes me months of digging all over the area to come up with a comparable score. I tip my hat to you!

      1. I use eBay mostly. I live in Hawaii and we just got our first comic book store about a year ago. There’s very little back issue selection and I don’t always agree on their prices. They don’t order enough to get incentive variants and when they do they are always at some insane jacked price never at cover price the day they come out. With EBay I can get what I want when I want it and majority of my pickups are always from eBay. Only stuff I really get at the Lcs is new books which is more my daughter picking up My little Pony, and Jem while I’m stuck with no variants only reg covers.

    2. I’m sorry, but a lot of those books I wouldn’t waste my time and $ on. Half of them are specs that aren’t going anywhere. and the other half have already had their day in the sunshine.

    3. I’ve gotten a lot of buyers from Hawaii on eBay. That must be why. Lol. So far I’ve never had any complaints about condition; but I package very sturdily to All Locations since package handling only gets worse year-to-year. The only issue with Hawaii is the arbitrary delay after it leaves the mainland.

  2. Also a fan tied all the Superman/Batman trailers into what they think is chronological order. It’s 10 minutes long lol, basically a cliff notes of the movie.

Potential Spoiler Alert – All clips released so far cut in (possible) story order. Extra 1 min 11 secs …

    1. I got my BvS swag from my friend.
      Tony, no crew jacket, LOL
Its the three movie posters. The ones where it features either batman, supes, or WW with their logo in red over top of them. Out of curiosity, I looked them up on eBay, and they have sold for $20 plus $20 shipping…. rounded for simplicity of course. Id consider that a score!

  3. This week’s pulls are;
Silk- #4 ( for the wife)
    DKIII- #3
    Spawn #261 ( both A&B covers. I am loving these cover B’s.)
Straight jacket #4 ( this book should be on the big screen. Such a good series to bad it has come to an end)
Back issues I picked up over the weekend for the PC
    Spread #13 cover B
Book of death legends of the geomancer #3
Harley Quinn # 12 1:25 variant for the wife
Batman: mask of the phantasm #nn
    Star wars #42 1st Boba Fett in a 9.6
    Amazing spiderman #362 1st carnage in a 9.6
    Walking dead #83 also a 9.6
And picked up about 20 (.25 cent) books for my boys to read.

    1. How much did you find the Walking Dead #83 for by chance?
I’ve decided to cut my pull list and focus on finishing my Walking Dead complete set as well. I’ve pretty much got 39 – present, only missing 49, 51 and 52; from 97 up I have 2 or more copies. I also have some of the key issues out of the way that includes #7, #10 and #19 along with 2 x #27. So I got a ways to go.. and that #1 is gonna be a tough one, especially since I’m going to shoot for a graded 9.8. I’m trying to make the complete set all 9.6 or higher in grade. Slowly but surely, I will get them all.

  4. I splurged this week and bought an Avengers 57(first appearance of Vision) and ASM 300 (first-ish appearance of venom). So, I’m taking a carving knife to my pull list to make up for the splurge!
All New All Different Avengers #6: The Visions is being a huge D!c% and I want to know why! That Avengers 57 homage cover by Ross to sweeten the deal doesn’t hurt, either.
Karnak #2: I’ll believe it when it’s in my hands. Ellis has dragged his feet for 120 days on this bad boy.
Silk #5: I might be dropping this if it doesn’t stop being All Old All the Same.
Bloodshot Reborn #11: this is basically Old Man Bloodshot (it’s even written by Lemire), but I don’t care. The previews of the Shadowmen in tomorrow’s issue look incredible.
Fight Club 2 #9: I have no idea what’s going on and I’m pumped.

    1. Isnt Vision being a jerk because he turned off his capacity for emotion? Or turned it down quite a bit.
Something about it making him vulnerable or something.
      I also think there’s more to it…like he’s a mole or has ulterior motives….

  5. Funny u said that drunk wooky, I also was very close to get a ASM 300. But I passed and said maybe in 2 months for my Birthday lol

    1. What’s funny is that the day after I ordered it I found 301 at my LCS. They had restocked the ASM run and it was just waiting for $5.00.
I’m looking to get 250-about 370. Long term collecting goals you know. I want to do that and also focus on a Carnage checklist I have.

    1. I have a Secret Wars #8. Probably a 7.0, but I got it for a steal. I’m mostly interested in the art and story that goes into these key events. You hear about keys (I never read them digitally before getting my hands on the actual issue) and you always imagine it differently. When you get your hands on the book that contains that moment that really changed things, it’s interesting to see how it was done. It seems like earlier comics could get away with a lot more general concepts and ideas. They could paint with a broad brush without having to explain a whole lot. Now, we need twenty issues of exposition of between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers to explain why the multiverse is collapsing.
Looking forward to my ASM300. It might seem fickle, but it will really round out my ASM300 homage collection to have the original sitting at the front.

      1. That’s because the audience in general has gotten dumber. It’s the same for movies and tv as well. They used to give you everything you needed to piece things together, not they have to hit us over the head with it. I read a nice article that talked about this in regards to the way movies are written today. Essentially it says that audiences dont have as broad of a spectrum of knowledge anymore and frequently do not pick up on historical or literary references that would eliminate the need for exposition.

  6. Comics for tommorow
    Cry havoc 2 staples variant
    Jacked 4 awesome series
    Batman and robin eternal 21
Dark Knight three master race 3
    Justice league 48 neal adams
    Suicide squad katana
    Black magick 5

      1. Dude that has been happening with a few titles at my lcs. They will get books that don’t go out for another week and then they won’t get books on date they should be out. Is this most likely diamond mess up?

  7. Just Picked up Secret Warriors #2 Hive 1st appearance. Read online Hive is the villain that Grant Ward changed into for the upcoming Agents of shield season starting in two weeks. Can be found for a couple of bucks at the moment.

  8. No Saga #34 in the uk or am I missing something? Can’t see any on line either..
Also all copies of straitjacket were pretty badly scuffed up, if it wasn’t such a great story I would have passed, wouldn’t normally buy a book in such condition.
    Jacked #4
    DKIII #3
    Futurama for my daughter.
I’m getting the hang of this light week malarkey!

    1. Both shops I went to, Straitjacket were all messed up. Seems like it’s just from crapping printing press.. where the back ink when stacked on top of one another is rubbing off onto the front cover.. etc. I’ll post a picture next chance I get. I’m willing to bet most were like this.

    2. My local comic book shop in Chico California only received one copy of Straitjacket 4 and it was scuffed like a Sunday newspaper, what gives???

  9. Bart Simpson 100 because I like milestone issues.
Imposter 1 because no one else cares.
Pick up any Neal Adams variant because most are sold out at Midtown and mycomicshop has them marked up.
Plus Ultra 2 is this week’s sleeper.

    1. I picked Imposter for my picks of the weeks. Art looked good from my quick skim, I’m hoping the story is just as good.

  10. This weeks grabs:
Gonna grab a copy of last weeks spider woman. That baby isnt going anywhere and it’s a first appearance. Maybe in 20 years it will be a big deal.
    all new inhumans
    back to the future
    chew
    DKIII
    grayson
    Justice league
    Justice league 3001
    karnak – FINALLY!
    outcast
    silk
    superman
    superman/WW
    ASM 1.3
    The flash

  11. Pick ups this week:
    Rachel Rising
    Fight Club 2
    Dark Knight III
    Plutona
    Saga
    Squirrel Girl
    Rick & Morty
Amulet 7 (amazing graphic novel series)
    Books back from CBCS:
    BA12 9.8
    BA12 9.6
The Crow 1 3rd printing 9.4 (label shows 3rd printing, alleviating my concern that they missed that fact)
I used the CBCS approved pressing service and the BA12’s came back better than I hoped. I really can’t tell much difference between the 9.8 and the 9.6, though. Not enough to justify the current difference in price between the two grades.
Also received in the mail my copy of Eacape from Monster Island cosplay Bobo Fett variant. Thanks to everyone for the heads up.

  12. If anyone is looking for an Alan Moore signature, Subterranean Press still has copies available of his book Voice of the Fire limited to 750 signed copies with a sweet Dave McKean (Sandman!) cover for $60. I picked up a copy durin their 1/2 off sale.

  13. Death Head #6 Series finale….won’t miss this series.
    Goddamned #3
    Postal #10
    RIngside #4
    Saga #34
Dark Knight MR #3. I was going to go back and read the originals before I started these so I have no clue if these have been good or not.

      1. I’m curious as well, I didn’t even finish #1.. just wasn’t for me. I started thinking about other things. If a book can’t keep my attention while I’m reading it.. then I’m not wasting more time with it.

  14. Purchased a “NM+” copy of New Mutants #98 on eBay for $250… Seller put the book in a bubble mailer with no cardboard or anything… Needless to say… Comic arrived destroyed…. WHAT A WASTE!

    1. That’s what eBay buyer protection is for.. get yo money back! But yeah, total waste of a comic. Placing in just a bubble mailer is just asking for the mailman to bend and twist to make it fit wherever.
Tell the seller to contact me, I’ll show him how to properly pack a comic book. If whatever I send out gets damaged, I’d want to meet that USPS person just to congratulate on doing the impossible. 😉

      1. Seller is accepting refund, I guess I’m too attached your previewed value of key books… It was hard to see a $600-800 book get reduced to a limp reader copy because of negligence…. Irksome!

        1. Either that or it was already beat up and he shipped it like he did to make it look like it got damaged in transit. Either way, glad you getting your money back without all the hassle of getting eBay personnel involved.

    2. Holy crap. eBay and PayPal dispute that puppy right away. Get a lot of good pictures and let the guy sink. What an idiot. I hope he insured it because that is a lot of money to come out of pocket on. By the way, it wasn’t graded was it? Not sure I would have trusted the grading of nm+ from a guy who ships a $250 book in a bubble mailer.

      1. It’s rare that it happens but out of about 2000 comics shipped to me from eBay over the years this has happened 4 times to me. The only one ever of value for me was a first Croc cover but at the time It was a $5 book. At least you got it in a bubble mailer and not just an tan envelope lol. People that don’t collect comics don’t know how to ship em properly. You’ll get your funds back no problem, might even luck out and the seller tell you to keep the book as well. You think it would be common sense if something of yours sells on eBay for over $200 and your claiming its NM you would make sure it gets there undamaged.

      2. The gloss and page quality were perfect, also I could see from the warped and bent packaging where the damage transferred to comic… Such a shame it would have graded, 9.4-9.8 easy based on the images I saw… Sooooo fu

      3. I’ve had that happen many, many times over the years. Not just plain, non-padded manila envelopes, but also those solid white plastic bags that people mail things in, with the book flopping around loose in there. Some people must think that USPS carries the package on a silver tray to carefully place it from one spot to the next along the way. And it wasn’t until just last year that I also had Anthony’s experience… 3 loose comic books taped directly onto a piece of cardboard with the tape going right across the books so there was no way to remove it without destroying the books. It was “Saw” for comic books… mutilation in exchange for freedom from restraints. In most cases, I got a full refund. The complicated ones are when it was a mid-grade copy, and eBay couldn’t qualify whether the damage shown was beyond the grade specified. And since they *still* let people use Stock Photos or No Photos in the comic book category, they don’t always acknowledge Actual Photos either, when it comes to Cases.

        1. That last bit is a nightmare. If they used a stock photo I would claim as a buyer that it was the advertised condition and I expected no less. Other things can bring down a grade besides cover condition

          >

      4. It ticks me off, too, that I have seen other sellers taking My Photos and claiming they are Actual Photos of their item for sale. I’ve reported it to eBay, but because I don’t watermark my photos, they claim I don’t have enough proof. 100% of my listings have either a light green sheet or a Marvel Titles/SFX sheet behind them; in all cases my listing went up First; and the people taking my photos have listings where the item photos look nothing alike. eBay is just lazy at enforcing rules, and these situations lead to unhappy buyers when they receive a book other than the one in the photos.

  15. HEY GUYS DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYONE AT COMICXPOSURE.ORDERED 2 COPY’S OF GOTHAM ACADEMY #1 2ND PRINT.WAITED A MONTH AND THEY FINALLY ARRIVED.GEE I GOT 1ST PRINTS.NOBODY EVER PICKS UP PHONE OR RETURNS EMAILS.WHAT’S UP WITH THIS COMPANY.I THINK IS MY LAST ORDER WITH THEM.

    1. Anthony likely does. You left your CAPS lock on as well. They have a number listed on their site as well, are you saying they’re not answering? Is it 347-443-8270 you’re calling? That’s the number they have listed on their website.
I haven’t ordered from them in quite sometime but I do recall they do take their sweet time fulfilling orders and getting them shipped out.

    2. ComicXposure are a bunch of Con Artists. I am still waiting on books from July 2015. They have admitted that they Do Not Read Emails. They get so many complaints, they just Delete Them All without reading them. They say they do not have time to deal with it. They followed up to my complaint here on this site a few weeks ago, but haven’t lifted a finger to send me the 82 books they owe me. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, filing chargebacks with Paypal, and have joined a Facebook Group that just started this week, called “ComicXposure Exposed”. Since ComicXposure is actively deleting customer complaints from their Facebook Timeline and Blocking those customers from ever posting again, there needed to be a place for people to post freely. ComicXposure has perpetually given excuses for their mishaps back when they actually did answer emails, but the problem is they also made false promises about corrections being made and packages being shipped… when nothing was actually shipping, and problems weren’t actually being addressed. You can’t make a bunch of guarantees and then keep on ignoring the problem like it is going to go away. I would never order from them again. The massive amount of people they have ripped off just continues to grow. And while I have not called them on the phone, because I do not want to get into verbal agreements when they can’t even honor written agreements, others have said they call-in and they do not pick up the phone. Since they told me they are deleting their inbox without reading the emails, I would believe they are ignoring the phone calls as well.

  16. Yes that’s their number,You can leave a message but they don’t reply in email or phone call.Very frustrating company to deal with.Ordered 2 comics awhile back,They only sent one after about a month.Shipping rate is 6 bucks so i ordered 2 comics to make it worth the shipping and i didn’t even get the book i really wanted.I didn’t bother complaining they don’t seem to listen. They show a lot of great variants but have always been leery of ordering with them. Thanks for answering my post

    1. If you care to follow it, this is a link to the group I mentioned: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1768679090019131/
You can at least post what happened to you to share with others; since ComicXposure is not resolving outstanding complaints, nor answering emails or the phone. Most people are going the BBB route & filing chargebacks with their payment source. Yours is a more recent issue, but mine is going on 8 months here, and they openly state that they are not obligated to send anything within any particular time period; it is the customer’s obligation to wait til they get around to it. And with all of the complaints they have deleted, they have also made it so they aren’t even keeping track of complaints that have been made. If you send a complaint by email, and they delete it, then they aren’t even aware of the complaint to circle back to it. They are relying on you to continue to email, call, comment, & reach out for months until you eventually catch them at a time where they are actually taking the time to handle complaints. This is a horrible way to run a business. Meanwhile, they are still openly accepting orders and commissioning new variants to sell, as the complaints just keep getting ignored in favor of raking in money.

  17. So today was a pretty good day. I spent more than expected (SURPRISE!) but made it all back up!
    All-New X-Men #5
    Amazing Spider-Man #1.3
Aquaman #49 (I don’t even read Aquaman but I HAD to get the Adams variant)
    Avengers #6
Black Magick #5 (For Tony, despite what Gwenpool lovin’ Poyo says!)
    Cyborg #8 (Adams cover)
Daredevil #4 (both covers. Cho is SICK!)
Dark Knight III #3 (McDaniel cover + 1:100 Miller variant!)
    Deathstroke #15 (both covers)
    Enormous #5
    Fight Club #9 (Sienkiewicz cover)
    Justice League #48
Outcast #16 (I’m still diggin’ this series a lot, despite it’s slow pace)
    Silk #5
    Suicide Squad Most Wanted #2
    Superman #49 (Adams cover)
Superman Lois & Clark #5 (Again, I don’t read it, but picked up the Adams cover)
    Superman Wonder Woman #26 (Adams!)
Superman: The Coming of the Supermen #1 (2 copies of the Sketch cover!)
    Venom Space Knight #4
    Wayward #14
So, I’ve already managed to unload the 1:100 Miller variant and 1 copy of the Coming of the Supermen. The return on those books almost paid for everything I spent today so I would call this day a WIN!

  18. Just saw the Spider-man #2 Campbell variant is sold out on Midtown Comics. Anybody want to speculate how high thats going to go?

    1. Well, Midtown was selling them for $75. That means my local shop will have them around $40 or less… and this is one thing I really dislike about these types of special covers, they throw them on a title that has nothing to do with the cover itself. Throw it on a Cap America book or a one shot for Cap… or maybe include Spider-Man on the cover with him at the least..

  19. Thats an awesome LCS you got there! It seems the one down the street from me eagleeyes websites like TFAW & eBay and raises the prices drastically on release day. No fun at all.

  20. Menace #5 1953. First appearance of Zombie. And it’s all mine. I’ll send you some pictures after I get Trey to press it. One of my grails is finally mine Tony! WOOOO!!!!
