Ok. Here is a strange one for you. How do you take a 1:5 variant and turn it into a really rare book? Simple, Diamond messed up.
Niobe She is Life #2 is running a little late. As a thank you, Stranger Comics offered up a secret 1:5 variant. The logistics of which was supposed to be handled by Diamond. However, when Diamond worked up the orders, they ordered 1 per store as opposed to 1 for every 5 copies ordered. Instead of being over 1,500 copies, less than 300 were ordered and printed. This made it really scarce. Midtown Comics had a copy up for $100 (discounted to $85) and has sold out.
Now here is the kicker. Diamond was also supposed to send an email to retailers saying they would be getting this special 1 per store (who ordered Niobe #2) variant. However, Diamond didn’t do it. Retailers may not know what it is when they get it in, think it is a 1:5, or a 50/50 variant and just throw it up on the shelf.
There is one copy of the Niobe She is Life #2 Retailer Appreciation Variant up on eBay. There is also a copy up for sale on Hoknes USA. Also, while you are at Hoknes USA don’t forget to check out the Comicsheatingup.net/Hoknes USA shared variant.

When is the release date for this one?
3/2
You know what would be surprising news? When Diamond doesn’t mess something up. 😉
Good luck to all that land one of these. My tip, if you get one, sell immediately as I think day one will be the best day to dump it for some easy profit (that’s if you get it at cover or cheaper than what some shops are listing them at).
Diamond doubled down on the failure today by finally sending out the email. In addition to misspelling the name of the book in the email, they claimed it was a 5:1 ratio still, which will leave shops mad when only one per store still ends up coming in
So.. we should report when Diamond does something right for once… right? 😛
