I actually only have 3 comics I’m picking up this week except for possible variants. I pre-ordered a bunch online to get the bigger discounts (still saved money with shipping costs). 🙂
Where from?
Midtown, mostly a 35% discount on pre-orders. I usually order the variants my local stores never get (mostly Star Wars action figure variants) so I figured I might as well order more to make the shipping more worthwhile and it’s a slightly better discount than my local shops.
You mean throw it out at the store like I do every week?
Forget that! It’s a small week for me, I’m gonna leave that receipt ‘accidentally’ laying out on the table.
A-Force 2 1:25 Brooks cover….I don’t see very many local stores ordering more than 10

I haven’t heard a whole lot of praise for Survivors Club. Worth a pick up in trade eventually?
I have been enjoying it
Last I looked the reviews weren’t that kind. It was one of those books I was going to make a game time decision on at the LCS and decided against it. I may give it a chance in trade.
Survivors Club has a fresh injection on the Eighties / Nineties killer / horror franchise theme with the main characters all having a connection to these events in their passed, which have been suppressed, only to now come to the fore in a well told contemporary setting. Great artwork & I really dig the character with a dark persona that comes out to ‘play’ akin to Japan’s The Ring.
Cool title from Vertigo. I’m really enjoying the monthly comic books, but most certainly the collected Trade is a solid consideration at the end of the year.
The theme really appealed to me. I’ve been trying to not add as many titles to my pull (easier said than done). This sounds like a title I may have missed.
Picking up Walking Dead. And I ordered the Hoknes/CHU Niobe 2 variant. Such a sweet cover. That’s it for me this week. And possibly a small week next week too. Got my Menace #5 coming in and decided to splurge on a 7.0 graded copy of Adventures Into Terror #4. Gotta love horror comics. Especially rare ones with first appearances.

Back issues I got Amazing Spider-man #301, Venom: carnage unleashed #1-4( cant wait to read it), and Web of spiderman #117-120. 1st scarlet spiders. I loved reading the scarlet Spider vol2 back in 2012. I just don’t understand why marvel cut down the series so soon. Probably one of my favorite spidey related series.

Well, I’m in London for the next two weeks so that will substantially alter my pull selections. This week:
-I’m headed to Forbidden Planet where I’ll try and get PeterMilligan to sign Didcipline #1. Mark Buckingham will also be there to sign my Miracleman 23 and 24.
-I’m also going to look at Gosh! Comics to see if they have any signed Beast Wagon issues left.
Might look for that Nipbe to find some of my trip! Cheerio for now!
Forbidden Planet also have Discipline #1 signed by Peter Milligan available to pre-order if you want to be sure to secure a copy if you miss out waiting in line to see him in person. Have this one signed on pre-order myself 🙂
I might do that. I’m planning on getting into London pretty early.

How did your Forbidden Planet stop by go ? Hope you managed to gab yourself a signed Peter Milligan edition of The Discipline #1. Noticed that the pre-order signed editions have all been snapped up on line.
I was pleased to get a Noel Clarke signed edition of the surprisingly well done, The Troop #1 last month as well.

Harbinger #1 found at my LCS supermint has to be a 9.8 it’s flawless all coupons and cut outs intact great deal $50, they must not of been keeping up with the heat of this book.This one is headed for slabbing.

i recently found magnus robot fighter (1963, gold key) # 1 in vg for $50. not that it was a smashing deal or anything but finding any grade copy of that book is rare so i was stoked.
I was actually able to nab a Niobe Store Exclusive at cover. Yay me.. it’s been listed! 😉

Yeah, it’s got to pay for the Walking Dead back issues I’ve been picking up to fill in the holes for that collection.
Question, which of these do you think is best long term hold;
Power rangers 1 – 1:100
Or
Niobe 2 – retailer incentive/diamond balls up edition, approx 300 printed.
Or neither!
I think Niobe might be but neither have exactly shot of the eBay shelves thus far…
The Niobe 2 has been selling for $70 pretty well. Haven’t checked the power rangers 1:100. The 1:200 Paul Pope one is the one I’d want as, well, it’s Paul Pope.
Prices on Power Rangers # 1 variants are dropping like flies.
Niobe # 2 Retailer variant – price is too high. Just wait and it will drop.
Long term, like in years, hands down Power Rangers. It’s been around longer, has larger fan base and the fan base will always likely be larger than Niobe in the coming years. Now, Niobe could increase in popularity if it ever makes it to the big screen or TV screen, etc but I don’t honestly see it becoming more popular than Power Rangers, which we’ve seen movies, TV shows, action figures, comics and a whole slew of merchandise created for.
But like Kyle said, both are dropping, the hype is over from the initial release. You’ll know soon the steady price after the hype, most collectors get into their collections and so on.
Thanks all, I’ve put them both up. Not hoping for a great return, annoying as first time I’ve been at the LCS for opening in ages and I picked a couple of duffers!
Did get a Spider-man 2 JSC which I don’t envisage having any great problems shifting.
Also the A-Force 1:25 Brooks variant, I’m holding that, I can only see one on eBay and thats in the US, think this one could turn out to be pretty rare. But going by my form today i would take that with a pinch of salt!
If it was for my PC, I would keep MMPR #1 1:100 but if I didn’t care for ether or and wanted to make some extra cash, then I would sell both.
I know I said this like, three weeks ago, but this is my smallest week almost ever.
I’ve bailed on all variants this week. Just not interested.
