Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 Print Run

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 is Boom! Comic’s top selling comic book, ever. In fact, CEO and Founder of Boom! Studios, Ross Ritchie sent out a letter to certain retailers thanking them for supporting it. In the letter it gives away the amount of copies ordered:

That’s right, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 hit triple digits for ordered copies. 128,000 copies ordered as of 2/24/16.
Something to think about:
The 1:200 Paul Pope Variant would be about 640 copies, selling at $100+ still.
The 1:100 Dustin Nguyen Variant would be about 1,280 copies and is selling for $30+
(Estimated based on number of orders)

  1. I didn’t speculate on this book. I only got books for my PC wich was one reg cover, action figure cover and the Monte cover. I had a felling that it was going to be a big print run. But not Marvel BIG lol.

    1. Yeah, I knew it would be big, but I thought about 75,000 copies. 128,000 is a lot bigger than expected. I bought a couple for my PC as well, still trying to get that Paul Pope as I love Paul Pope.

      1. I wasn’t going to get any of #1, but buying a regular cover netted me a ‘free’ party pack. So I thought ‘Why not? Free stuff for $3.99!’ Lol

        1. Yeah. I got a free party pack and free party variant. Have the pack to my kids and kept the variant. Made them $2 each and happy kids.

  2. Anybody expecting the price gains for #1 variants like the #0 variants did is in for a shock! As in the shock for lost money for overpaying for it when the print runs will be like Batman numbers.
Don’t get fooled trying to flip!

  3. I had a feeling #1 would be about 100,000 copies. With the “boom” of the #0 issue, and going to a 2nd & 3rd printing prior to #1’s release, with plenty of time for retailers to debate the book’s popularity, I figured orders were going to keep getting bumped up with more interest being seen in it. So, I didn’t buy many copies of #1. I did get a bunch of #0 2nd & 3rd prints, though; and whenever I see a 1st print #0 I grab it. You’d think they were long gone by now, but I actually found a few in decent shape at a Books-A-Million last week. I didn’t even know I had a Book-A-Million near me; it’s hidden in a mall. Any BAM I have been to has horrifying condition comic books, but every now and then the more-recent releases will be stocked with the magazines, or somehow end up less damaged by the time I get to them. It would be nice if their website would offer better deals on comics, I would just buy online, but they only seem to have comic book sales at their local stores.
