Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to to the potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 3/30/16:
Finally getting a break on the old wallet as it is a smaller week. Still some good books to look forward to.
One for the Book Shelf
Paper Girls Vol. 1 TPB– if you haven’t read this awesom Brian K Vaughn series here is an under $10 way to do it. I love the $9.99 Image Vol. 1 books.
Saga #35- BKV at his best. I wish I hadn’t sold off all the extra copies I picked up way back when.
The Returning Favorites
Self-Storage #4– after a brief break the awesome zombie series is back. Looking forward to seeing the series continue.
Black Science #21– Like BKV, Rick Remender is really one of the master comic story tellers out there. This is one of the books where he really honed himself.
Saga #35– And Speaking of BKV, his ever growing sci-fi space epic returns.
The Marvel Event One
Captain America Sam Wilson #7– The return on young Steve Rogers. We reported a while ago Steve would de-age, this is the hows and whys.
The Small Press Gem
Queen of Vampires #3– This Vampirella-esque story has been very solid in both story and art.
The Dystopian Future One
Suiciders King of HelLa #1– First miniseries from Vertigo was very good. Looking forward to the follow up.
The Pick of the Week
Power Lines #1– Image is putting out a new series that will be racially charged. Young black man that only gains super-hero power in a rich white neighborhood. I am very interested in this one.
