You guys need to jump on Batman Superman #32 asap. Sold out at Diamond, Midtown and TFAW. First appearance of the new Chinese Superman.
A lot of us have been burned on DC spec before so are Leary of it. Will still be picking it up all the same.
I’d pick these up to…if you can find them for cover …so far I’ve only layed claim to one copy. eBay has them for 10$-20$ already. Craziness.
Could be a Wednesday winner already.

I secured a few copies of this prior to going into the shops tomorrow. I’ll see how many are on the shelf and may pick up a couple extra. At 3.99, it’s a low-risk spec.
I think I managed to get the last one off of Mycomicshop, will be on the lookout tomorrow. The New Superman was one of the only Rebirth titles I was interested in.

Curious on everyone’s opinion on Marvel Star Wars spec. Got a deal on some 1st print Darth #3s (1st Aphra & the evil droids). Worth holding onto for awhile or take the money & run?
Do both. Sell enough to cover cost and hold the rest. House money either way at that point.

She’s a great character. And I like the droids. I’d hope they use her in a movie. One thing the SW universe needs is more villains not so Empire based. Other than Darth, Emperor, & Stormtroopers there’s really only Boba Fett & Jabba.
Some others would do well in expanding things and adding some variety.
I don’t really consider Boba Fett as a villain though, just a bounty hunter trying to make a living…. 🙂
That’s true, but he does have a long-standing blood feud with Han Solo, our protagonist. Hard to say he’s not a villain.
Yeah, but one could argue that Han Solo is a villain. He is a two timing smuggler turned pilot for the rebels.
This weeks pickups……..
Journey into mystery #102 1st Sif 1st Hela… Hela is rumored to be the main villain of Thor3. Nice old book with a double first appearance. Better to pick it up now then later, old silver age books can get expensive overnight this already has Sif’s first appearance pushing it if Hela is confirmed for Thor 3 this could start to get up there.
Xmen #130 1st Dazzler think I already have a copy but found a VF for $25 last Friday. I also bought Dazzler #29 for $1.50 but mysteriously the eBay seller said he lost it and by that time he let me know The $1-$3 copies on eBay were gone.
Amazing Spider-Man #162 x2 1st Jigsaw. Have 4 of these now all around VF hoping for a nice flip on the 3 extras if Jigsaw makes the Punisher Netflix series.
Killbox #1 1:10 Variant x5 Will flip these out after a few more issues come out.
Xmen #212 1st comic with Wolverine vs Sabretooth this is the second battle between Wolvie and Sabretooth in continuity but the first printed in comics. First battle takes place in Wolverine #10 which is printed several years later after Xmen #212.
Showcase #55 1st Silver Age Solomon Grundy Either shell out $10,000 for the 1st Solomon Grundy printed during the Golden Age, or be happy with his 1st SA appearance at a fraction of the price. One step closer to finishing my Silver Age Batman villain keys.
Tales to Astonish #62 1st Leader. Nice Hulk key. Already Have this just picked it up cheap in auction with combined shipping to help soften the blow of $7 shipping on the Showcase #55.
Marvel Collectible Classics Chromium Giant Size Xmen #1 x2 reprint. This is a limited reprint of Giant Size Xmen #1 with an amazing chromium cover. This book being a reprint of 1st Storm, 1st Nightcrawler, 1st Colossus, 1st Illyana, 1st Thunderbird, and 1st new Xmen team with wolvie should be a decent flip as I picked up these for about 1/4 what they are listed for on eBay. I’ve always liked the Chromium Covers and the Spidey ones go for big bucks, the rest of the collectible classics Chromium covers are starting to go for decent money now too.
Also from a preorder Last week Amazing Spider-Man #12 Campbell Variant and Spidergwen #8 AoA variant these covers look great. Also watched Civil War Sunday night wouldn’t call it the greatest comic movie ever like Kevin Smith but it is GREAT. They really nailed the perfect cast for Black Panther and to my surprise Spider-Man as well. Spidey’s lines are very comic book like and his voice sounds just like the Peter Parker from the 90’s cartoon I love they nailed it and am excited for the future of Spider-Man movies.
After tonight’s episode of the Flash I picked up Justice Society of America #1 1992 1st Jesse Quick. Looks like Jesse Quick will have her powers along with Wally West as the kid Flash (New 52version). 1st Full New 52 Wally West is Flash Annual #3 and Flash vol4 #30 which is just a corpse cameo. Have both those already.

Already pre-ordered 2 copies of TWD #154 will be getting a couple more . I was wondering how do you guys store your comics? I use long boxes but I was thinking about switching to drawer boxes. I heard that they are better for stacking and they hold more. What do you guys think? Let you know what my in store pickups are tomorrow.
I have some Drawer Boxes and I love them. My only problem is the space I have them in. Drawer Boxes are taller than regular boxes so I can only stack 4 high in my space versus 5 high with the regulars. That mean I lose space to hold about 10 long boxes. As a collecting product though, they’re great!
I have drawer boxes in my comic room. I switched from long boxes to short boxes a few years ago. My thought is the shorter stout short boxes will hold up better. I use regular short boxes upstairs in my bedroom for storage. My wife hates them all.
I think the only solution my wife would find not only acceptable, but desirable are the wooden comic cubes (http://www.comiccubes.com/cc_products.html). However, she would scoff at the price.
Drawer boxes are great, I put my old longboxes on top of them. I would just use heavy duty clear tape on the bottom of the actual drawer part to cut down on wear and tear from pulling and pushing the drawer in and out.

Revival has been great the last few issues. I do agree it was in a “Walkind dead lull”.
Nailbiter is great. Revival I hung on and it’s gotten better, at least it’s been persistent on a monthly basis with no large gaps, gotta give them that much credit.

Neil Gaiman coloring book as part of the Independent Book Store Day. Sold out quickly at a limited number of independent book stores this past Saturday for $15. Bids on eBay yesterday for $30+ with people asking as much as $75.

I picked up Black Widow Jones variant. Only one at one shop. I grabbed the Punisher Maleev variant at $34.. yeah, all the shops were picking up on it’s heat but I couldn’t pass it up, I love Punisher and that’s just a sweet cover. I saw no Moon Knight variants.. 🙁
Settled for the punisher age of apocalypse. Variant
Hit two shops and saw 2 Moon Knights, 4 Punishers, 3 Black Widows. I walked away with 1-2-2 out of that group. Saw quite a few Batman Superman 32s at one shop but only 5 at the other. I preordered 4 last night but picked up 2 today. Also saw all the AoA variants except the Thunderbolts which was really odd considering all the other ones were on the shelf.
Got the Punisher Maleev variant this morning but unfortunately the shops I hit up so far didn’t order 25 copies of Moon Knight despite selling out of #1 within 2 days. No Black Widow 1:25 (3 regular copies only at each store) and no Gwenpool 0 variant. That Holiday Special killed the stores in my area, piles gathering dust, so they order very light on her books.

Picked up x2 Gwenpool #0, a Maleev Punisher #1. Was in right when they opened. No Black Widow Joelle variants or Moonknight #2. The Batman/Superman #32’s were going quick as everyone was grabbing multiples as well as the Walking Dead 154. Kinda disappointed as my store didn’t have any variants or they were all spoken for and I was one of the first in when they opened.
Picked up 3x walking dead 154, 3x batman/superman 32, and a copy of starwars classic true believers. Got my 4 kids walk into a bank signed copies, one normal cover and one third eye! I also got the original marvel zombie set 1-5 with a few variants of issue 1 for $40, walking dead 127 (first appearance of magna) for $5, walking dead 132 loot crate variant (first appearance of alpha) for $1, the infinity gauntlet 1 from 1991 for $0.25 (sadly a kid wrote “read book” on the G in gauntlet), the punisher kills the marvel universe 2nd print for $5, wolverine origins 10 for $5 (first appearance of daken), death of wolverine 4 for $3, and x factor 1 from 1985 signed by bob layton for $1!

I spent way too much today as well. I love Punisher, Black Panther and Moon Knight so I splurged grabbing variants. After I bought the first Maleev variant for $34, another shop had them for 25, so I bought another one. I’m going to sell one to get my money back. Found Moon Knight 2 variant for $20 and the Punisher Black Panther 50th variant for 10 bucks. Couldn’t pass up the Black Widow Jones variant for 10 bucks either.
I usually don’t buy variants over cover but my variant cover honey spot didn’t get crap today and I’m a sucker for Punisher, Black Panther and Moon Knight. Am selling a couple of Batman Superman 32 though I picked up. These were slim at all shops and will all be gone quickly for sure.
Met Becky Cloonan who was signing at Austin Books so got a few Punisher ‘s signed so that’s a bonus to end this fabulous expensive comic book day.

Poyo, I picked up the one copy of the Black Widow and Moon Knight variants for $8 each, the other BW and Punishers for $15, and the Gwenpool for $10. I’m in the process of selling one BW and BS 32 now, which would help recoup some of the costs. I may move the 2nd copy of Punisher too. But right now, the market is just flooded!
Did manage to pick up a punisher 1 maleev variant of the bay… Might wait out the black widow 3 variants to see if they drop a little.
Oh and sold a batman superman 32 for 15$. Think I’ll hold onto the other 4 for awhile. Prob even slab 2 of them. I love comic books. ?
The other day my daughter told me that my office smelled like a comic book store. I don’t know if I should be proud that she knows what a comic store smells like, or incredibly disturbed at some of my life choices.
It’s just the smell of paper. I think your life choice is good. She didn’t say it smells like a bar, a strip club, or a crack house so you are ok. Lol.
