Irredeemable from Boom Movie, Gets Director

Not sure I was aware that Irredeemable was getting a movie (hard to keep track of these things at time), but it looks like director has been named.
Irredeemable follows The Plutonian, a Superman type character, that goes rogue. The Plutonian first appears in Irredeemable #1, which cheap copies have flown off of eBay. Your local comic shop could have these in the cheap bins.

“The Big Short” filmmaker attached to oversee project for Fox’s new Boom! Comics cinematic universe
Adam McKay has been attached to direct “Irredeemable” for 20th Century Fox, TheWrap has learned.
The film is based on the Boom! Comics book of the same name and would help kick off Fox’s brand-new superhero cinematic universe.
The “Anchorman” and “Big Short” director will be working with Tommy Wirkola (“Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”), who is writing the screenplay.
In the comics, “Irredeemable” follows superhero-turned-villain, the Plutonian, as he goes on a killing rampage.
It’s up to the superhero group The Paradigm to stop him.

  1. There’s an Atomic Comics Red Variant of this limited to 1000 copies, also today the Russo brothers accidentally let slip that Captain Marvel is confirmed for next Avengers movie.

    1. I believe there is also a 1:50 variant that came signed by Mark Waid if I remember correctly. Can’t find any recent sales for it on Ebay though.

  2. Had no Idea Boom was connected with Fox..If Fox is doing a hero cinematic universe based on Boom..Id say Feathers has a good chance to make it on the big screen or some type of screen
Feathers #1 is cheap right now and I read somewhere that the book already had a low print run and didn’t go to a 2nd printing..but i swore i say a 2nd printing somewhere…1:20 virgin Variant..could be a keeper as well…Im just sayin

  3. I wish something would happen with Boom’s Higher Earth…that would have made a great tv series similar to Sliders.

  4. I have a copy of Feathers #1. And it doesn’t have a 2nd print. I remember the prices went crazy high cuz it was the first one that had a low print run and Boom! didn’t do a 2nd print. That would be a nice book to see on the big screen.
