Walmart recently dabbed their toes in the comic arena with DC packs of comics that contained reprints of New 52 books as well as other DC books. I received an email from a regular reader who is also a Sales Rep (name with held for privacy) who stated Marvel packs are hitting the shelves including classic Marvel Books.
This morning they were putting out these comic packs in the sports card area. $5.00 for 4 comics, but you can see pretty much what’s in there.
Mostly usual overstock, but I did get the two Spiderman Obama variants, no longer hot of course, they came bagged & boarded with a couple packs of Marvel VS. cards, which were not in the other bag.
I did get a mint Cable #1, but the score was the three Amazing Spider-Mans 296, 308, & 316 which is I believe the first Venom cover. All mint so a heads up that these are out there, maybe some good scores to be found. Package says there are 500 key issues including Silver Age randomly inserted.

Ughhh… no. I really do avoid Wal-Mart….. haven’t had to step into one in over 8 years I think. Had to get spray paint for project late one night and they only place open at the time.

We used to be the same way. Then we moved and Walmart was the closest store by far and we finally gave in. It is another world in there.

My local Five Belows haven’t been restocking comics (have heard they will be) and changed their facings from hanging to on the table with the books so it would be nice to see some old issues lying around somewhere else. And if they are randomly inserting silver age books and keys, in the bags that are easy to manipulate to see what else is in there (I know the trick for their other Marvel bags) that you would be able to find the good ones quickly.

Found these at a Walmart by me today. Manipulated the package to see what was there and a whole lotta crap. Marvel fanfare and the like. My job requires me to drive all over 3 states so needless to say I’ll be hitting up some walmarts soon.
Looks as if we may have the line up for the new mutants movie …director josh Boone posted pics on his Instagram acct of; Illyana Rasputin/Magik (Colossus’ little sister), Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, Danni Moonstar/Mirage, Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Roberto DeCosta/Sunspot and Warlock …all fairly reasonable priced books at the moment. I’d say it’s a spec worth looking in to.
Now I am happy I picked up the extraordinary X-men 1 1:25 J Scott Campbell magick variant when it came out. Was beginning to think it was gonna be a dud. But there is hope yet…

Does anyone know if these are only available at certain stores in certain regions like the DC comics were or are they available at stores all across the U.S.?
I don’t think it’s regional…the Walmart that had these didnt have the DC 3 packs. And a Walmart that had the DC 3 packs didn’t have the marvel one. Don’t know if that helps you any.
Thank’s, just wondering because I went to around 6 different Walmart’s looking for the DC 3 packs before I found out they weren’t sold in my area. Some of the responses I received from the management and people working at those Walmarts were very interesting to say the least.
You would have thought that I was asking them to explain the meaning of life when I asked them if they had the DC 3 packs in stock or if they would be getting any in stock.
Lol. I called several walmarts and asked them to put me through to a cashier near the card game section and when I asked if they could check for some comics on the shelf you could’ve swore I was speaking Latin to them.
I have been looking for the Batman Superman two pack pops for months. Haven’t found any. Ask for pops and they send you to the cereal aisle.

Some of you folks are getting excited over a whole lot of garbage .
I live near the most ghetto Wal-Mart that hardly carries sports cards anymore because of all the thieves so I doubt they’ll have these. There’s a Five Below in the same shopping center that hasn’t out any new Marvel comic packs out in several months.
In my travels I hit up a Five Below in the burbs and got a Superior Spider-Man Team-Up #1 1:100 Deadpool sketch variant showing on the top of a pack, so there’s some goodies out there.

Went to 3 Wal-Marts today, only 1 of them (Bristol, PA) had the Marvel packs and the display box was very full. All junk

I’m technically ban from Walmart due to some late night fun in my younger days, but these are tempting to push my luck to look through them.
They must have a poster up of you and it must be epic if you still are not allowed back in.
Went to one of the Wal-Marts near my house yesterday and they finally had a box of these and the DC 3 packs. None of the stores in my area had either the Marvel 4 packs or DC 3 packs until this week.
Bought 4 of the Marvel 4 packs and actually got some decent stuff. Nothing really valuable, but not complete junk. The Amazing Spider-Man issues I got were worth buying the packs for by themselves alone IMO.
