Variant Envy: Henchgirl 1 Terrific Con Variant

Attention Henchgirl fans. There is a variant up for pre-order for the Terrific Con Variant at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. And if you are in the area, Kristen Gudsnuk will be there to sign copies.

The Henchgirl #1 Terrific Con Variant is only available from NY Collector Cave. With a print run of 500 copies, I cannot see these lasting long.

  1. Is it worth the asking price? Will this have legs at all? It’s probably a hold and see…

  2. If you get it from the website you will save 10$.
Nycollectorcave.com I picked up 1 cuz I missed the boat on the regular copy. If anyone has a reg #1 they want to do a trade on I’m sure I can come up with something interesting.

      1. Ok thx, was just wondering. Did the whole Legacy Harley thing already, and although I didn’t cancel my order and am still happy with my purchase, it was definitely a disappointment to hear they increased the print run after quoting 3000/1500. Hope this one stays at 500.

  3. Picked one up from the NY Collector site. If you are having issues selecting shipping when ordering from your phone there is a radio box that appears to the left of the shipping option after you add the zip code. You have to select the radio box before hitting the checkout button.

  4. There web page sucks. Been trying to buy one but once I pick shipping it doesn’t add it to my total and doesn’t let me continue. Is anyone else experiencing this?

  5. Great now it doesn’t even let me add a book to the cart. Going to try again tomorrow. That’s if they are not sold out by then. I am just getting frustrated lol

    1. Great tip — thanks, Anthony! I’m surprised to see people buying this from eBay when it says right on the eBay page that the comic is available for ten dollars less on their website. I grabbed two from their website with no problems (though the shipping button issue is weird). But these seem as close to a “sure bet return” as we get in this business. A number one / low print run variant of an extremely popular comic — can’t beat that. 🙂

    2. (sorry my post attached itself to your comment …. don’t know why that happened. I hope you get to order a copy from the website — I noticed it wouldn’t let me order until I made sure to click the shipping button beneath the dropdown, in case that helps…)

  6. Said I wasn’t buying anything at all this week.. Oh well, bought 3! Hurry folks, these are flying off of eBay!

  7. I tried again and it let’s me add anything else to my cart but that book. I am going to call them tomorrow and see what’s up.

  8. I ordered two a few hours ago… The website is a bit touchy but received order confirmation on my e-mail so I am guessing that means it went through. Hope so. Like Anthony stated if the show does come out the early issues will explode more than they have already and this variant at only 500 copies will explode right along with them! Even if it doesn’t it is a good series and worth checking out. As of writing this 32 have been sold on ebay. Figure some will be sold on their store website and then some will be sold in their actual store and that means this won’t last long, especially as word spreads.

  9. I’m a little confused. How is this a Terrificon Variant when the Collector Cave Website states it is due to release on August 24th and the the dates for the Terrificon are August 19-21st. Hmmmmm.

      1. That just doesn’t make sense. If it’s shipped out after the Con then it is not a Con variant! Which means that you cannot have it signed at the TERRIFICON as stated in the original posting.

        1. You can if you go to Kristen’s Table or The table for the shop. Both will be set up there. Just because they are shipping to everyone who isn’t going to the convention after the convention doesn’t mean that you will not be able to get them at the convention of you go. I don’t work for the shop so I can’t say for sure, can only go by what has been told to me.

  10. If there are truly only 500 made then they wont be available at the convention…this is not a Terrificon Exclusive variant. This is a Store Variant

    1. This is a store/convention exclusive. The collector cave with be at the convention for you to buy it from there to get it signed.

        1. See the reply from the store itself. Essentially con variants are all store variants commissioned for the convention just like a store variant commissions a variant for their store. Semantics at this point. However, at NYCC there are variants that have logo’s for both the store and for the comic con (Midtown, Comicxposure, Phantom Variants, and more have done this)

  13. To clarify: This IS a Terrificon Exclusive meaning this issue will be revealed at Terrificon and Terrificon ONLY by us Collector Cave. We allowed a minimum amount of pre sales to occur to benefit all the Henchgirl fans that can not attend Terrificon in CT. No, there logo is not on the cover because they are not our “partners” with us on this one. They have partnered with ComicXposure this year. Yes, ONLY 500 copies are printed. We are almost PRE SOLD OUT so if you haven’t ordered, please hurry.
Anthony thank you for sharing. Everyone else we sincerely apologize for any website inconvenience that occurred.

  14. Id consider it a variant. Although technically it’d be a third print. Fourth if you count the pre-Scout series.

  15. According to the NYCollectorCave website these are now sold out for pre-order. The only place that is actively selling them right now is on Ebay. Think there are some for $30.
