Variant Envy: Solarman #1 CBFS Variant

With the announcement of the Solarman movie development, the book has been selling extremely well. Scout has been putting out books with print runs of less than 3,000 copies (not sold but they have stated they have not had a print run of higher than 3,000 copies.) Here is a variant that could be good.

Solarman #1 CBFS Variant has only one listing on eBay at the moment. The print run is 250 copies and the art was done by Paul Green, the artist behind those popular cosplay variants from Zenescope.

They were on Ltd Edition Comix website for £9.99 plus shipping but could not add to my cart.

I could add to my cart but listed at £9.95.. when I view my cart, somehow they claim the total is £44.95 (that’s without any shipping charges.. ) Hmm…

  2. Luq says:

If you go through the checkout, the cart corrects. Was just able to check out.

  3. OCguy72 says:

Yes, what Luq said. That 44pounds is a fluke..or a deterrent from keeping me spend more than I want on spec books…Regardless, if you ignore that and finish the order process it corrects itself at the end. I picked up one just to have…or sell if it really takes off.

What does that equate in US dollars total shipped?

      • OCguy72 says:

It comes out to $23.59 total for one issue shipped to the US. Not awful if the print run is so small, especially if it takes off running.

      • Anthony says:

I think that makes the ones on eBay about comparable without having to have them shipped overseas.

      • OCguy72 says:

yeah, looking at the ones that sold on Ebay after shipping it is in the same ballpark…A little cheaper even, which is always a good thing.

    • David Billadeau says:

I just bought two, it was $38 total.

      • OCguy72 says:

If everything pans out one of those issues could pay for both plus shipping with maybe a little left over…Here is to hoping!

  4. OCguy72 says:

They are back up on Ebay with the asking price of $28 plus $6 shipping as a pre-sale coming from overseas…Still cheaper to get them from the website but not a bad price on the secondary market considering the print run and potential film news.

  5. Stuart says:

Just bought one for £9.95. If you add item then click top left menu and select checkout. You can then purchase item. Hope this works as it did for me.

  6. emiobeg says:

I bought 2 and with shipping included it ended up less than $25 dollars

    • Anthony says:

Lol. Well done sir. I can usually ship to the UK cheaper than shops can. Just something to keep in mind if you need something.
