DC TV News Wrap-Up

Some pretty interesting characters are coming to a couple of the CW’s DC TV shows. Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow are all getting new appearances by some classic DC Characters.
First up is the introduction of Mon-El on Supergirl. Mon-El, also known as Lar Gand, first appeared in Superboy #89, which also had the second appearance of the Negative Zone. According to Comicbook.com actor Chris Wood will be playing the role.
Also coming up for Supergirl is Miss Martian. Copies of the 2003 released Teen Titans 37 flew off eBay today when the story was announced. Sharon Leal (seen bleow) will be playing M’gann M’orzz as noted on Comicbook.com

On the Flash front, dark speedster Savitar is set to make an appearance. His first appearance in Flash 108 (Vol.2) disappeared quickly and only a few copies are left on eBay. This is a lcs back issue hunt item.
Finally, over on the Legends of Tomorrow front, Obsidian, Alan Scott’s son, who was a former villain turned good guy will be played by Lance Henricksen (or at least voiced by him) depending on how they portray him. Obsidian first appears in the more reasonably priced All Star Squadron #25.

  1. How good of a spec do u think the martian will be? Cause comic wise havint seen anything on rebirth? Is this a quick flip?

    1. All tv specs tend to be fairly quick flips. I know I have a copy somewhere and it is just a matter of finding it and listing it.

      1. If i have a near mimt high grade copy is it worth it to cgc it first then do a quick flip? I mean the show dont start till Oct and she prob wont appear till mid season not right away

  2. Long term spec, probably not too much, short term if you can get a few cheap and sell them soon it should be good for a quick flip. This book can probably still be found at a lot of local comic shops and as of writing this there are still a handful on Amazon for $3 to $5. Might be worth picking up at least one for the personal collection if you don’t have any. I did get one for myself.

      1. u think its worth to get the teen titans 37 slabbed then sell it if i find a high grade copy?

      2. @ Jay…If you think it is a 9.8 you could. 9.8’s always go for a premium and it is what most people look to buy for newer, less expensive books. Maybe with a 9.6 as well, but not sure if anything lower would be wroth it sending in.

  3. I am new to the speculating lark, despite collecting since late 80s. Just hoovered up last 2 copies of Titans on Amazon UK (I’m British), got them for equivalent of $5. So a question if you guys don’t mind? Do TV specs tend to go up or down on the actual appearance on screen of the character? Obviously if they tend to go up I’ll hold on to them. Or is the best time to flip soon after the announcement like you have discussed here? Any tips gratefully received! Cheers

    1. Usually leading up to the appearance the prices spike and dip afterwards (less if they are a reoccurring character, but still usually dips the same.)
