Grant Morrison to adapt Happy! for SyFy

Syfy has brought in a pretty big gun to adapt the TV adaptation of Happy!. In fact, they are bringing in the writer himself Grant Morrison.
Happy! was a four issue mini series from Image released in 2012 which was penciled by Darick Robertson. Cheaper copies moved off eBay today following the news.
From Comicbook.com:

UCP is also developing Happy! for Syfy, an adaptation of a graphic novel originally written by Morrison and co-created with artist Darick Robertson. Robertson’s work on both Transmetropolitan and The Boys have made him a creator Hollywood loves to court, but as yet none of those properties have been successfully adapted. Back in 2012, RZA had optioned Happy! to develop as a feature film.
Morrison and Taylor are set as executive producers and co-wrote the pilot; Taylor is attached to direct. This grimy crime black comedy features Nick Sax, a corrupt, intoxicated, ex-cop turned hit-man adrift in a twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit goes wrong, Nick finds a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail and a monstrous killer in a Santa suit on the loose. But his world is about to be changed forever by Happy, a tiny (imaginary) blue winged horse with a relentlessly positive attitude.

      1. You got to be shitting me.. I think my copies ended up in a Half Price Books drop off about a week ago.. sigh!

    1. Yeah, I actually enjoyed it myself. If you can’t find at your local comic shops, check the bargain book stores. I know my copies are at a Half Price.. I’ve seen these there before and didn’t bother since well, I had copies and they were dirt cheap everywhere else.

  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Seriously, “Happy,” is the only work by Grant Morrison I absolutely despise and have insulted numerous times on my blog. I seriously love almost everything he has done and we get this? Why can’t we get an adaptation of my favorite comic ever, The Filth?” I’m going to go cry in a corner now.

    1. I have seen that. You did a comparison on his worst work and a book that you hated best work. Give us a link to that please. It was a good read.

  2. One of my favorite series! After prices tanked I was still buying graded copies of the variant covers for my PC, wish I finished the set now.
I thought RZA was doing a movie based on the series; TV show is better

  3. Did anyone ever get their Once our Land HC signed and sketched yet in the mail? Been almost a month I’m going to have to PayPal dispute it.
