Venom Symbiote returns to Peter Parker

(Spoilers ahead. They are not covered because the issue is out today, however, if you haven’t read it and plan to, please do not read on.) Thanks To Mel V. for the heads up.
Looks like Peter will be regaining the Venom Symbiote, at least temporarily. In today’s issue of Venom Space Knight #11, Venom is back on earth and meets up with an (Un)familiar face.
As you can see above, the Venom Symbiote (I guess Venom Symbiote #2) does not recognize Peter and questions him on Peter having been a host.

A battle ensues, as it normally does.

And Peter seems to relish the reunion.
The variant cover for Venom Space Knight 11 is already hard to find, as Mel had mentioned in his variant picks of the week.
The story continues into Venom Space Knight 12, where, by the description, is when you will see Peter back in black, but by looking at the cover to issue 13, we will be seeing another Symbiote.

  1. Coolness factor but I wouldn’t expect much on secondary market, if it does heat up some, it’ll die quickly.

    1. If somebody were considering paying aftermarket prices for these variants of venom major story events, they might as well forgo a couple and just save up for a ASM 252, ASM 300, or Secret Wars 8. The classic Venom keys will always be in demand.

      1. Oh totally, Mel. If you can get it on the cheap, more power to you. However, I think people just need to be realistic about the importance of Venom once more bonding with Peter Parker. Will Peter Parker finally succumb to total Venom control for the rest of Marvel continuity? Not likely.
I haven’t read this issue yet, and I’m especially excited to read it now. That red background on the variant is real striking as well. Simple and elegant, the way I like my variants.

      2. I preordered that Venom Space knight #11 variant for $7.95 I still think that’s too much. Can find all the Venom Space Knight 1:25 incentive covers 1-10 at close to cover price. Problem with variants and slow comic weeks people need something to throw money at, but pays to research what your blindlesly throwing money at.

      3. Does anyone think that they will ever change the first appearance of Venom to ASM#252, and Secret Wars#8. Venom is the symbiote regardless of the host, why does Venoms first appearance remain ASM#299,#300 when the symbiote jumps on its second host in those books. I have all the Venom keys and love them equally, but I think the first appearance of the symbiote suit should be cgc’d as first venom on the label and not 1st black costume for Spidey.

      4. Alana, I don’t think that will happen, nor do I think it should. You can’t just change a valuable first appearance because of a retcon. If DC writes a story about superman’s rocket being intercepted and replaced by an imposter, does that mean that action comics isn’t the true first appearance?

  2. I don’t think it’s confirmed that she’s mania, but anyway mania was way back when as well…

    1. It’ll be Mania. I’ve read the last couple issues and he needs to go back to earth to resolve the demonic whatever that was left attached to her. It’s the reason the Venom symbiote cannot be purified.

  3. I agree with Alana. The first app of the symbiote suite is Secret Wars 8 and ASM#252. I’m a classic ASM guy and those two should be reveared as the first symbiote suite appearances. Was just speaking to a few respected indie artists yesterday about how the first series of Secret Wars in 84 doesnt get enough respect in the market. It is still a successful running series today and a toy franchise to back it up yet gets no love in the market. I just bought a 9.8 Secret Wars #1 for 20 bucks just to have it in the studio. Classic cover too. Secret Wars 8 and ASM 252 will always be the first to introduce Venom for me. Thought that Venom Space Knight 11 variant cover was also great. Just my opinion. Thanks fellas

  4. Have to agree with Brennan on this one. The symbiote suit’s appearance is Secret Wars 8 and ASM 252 but the suit doesn’t change to Venom until it bonds with Eddie Brock, ASM 299 and 300. So 299 and 300 should be the first appearance’s of Venom.
