Wednesday Winner: God Country #1

It is nice to walk into you local comic shop on Wednesday and pick up your books. It is even nicer that by the end of the night, some of the comics are selling for multiple times cover price.God Country #1 is one of those books.
Individual copies of God Country #1 Cover A are selling for as much as $18.99 Cover B copies are selling for as much as $20. With sets going for between $24.99 and $35, there still may be some cheap sets popping up. Mycomicshop, Midtown, and are all sold out.
Are we looking at another Seven to Eternity situation here? The raw copies of the A cover are selling for over $100 now for Seven to Eternity

  1. Wild ride on this one—-it took me completely by surprise! I haven’t read it yet, but from what I’ve heard, people absolutely LOVE it. Here’s to hoping for another great series from Image—clearly their star is rising….

      1. You guys are miles ahead of me on “stock picking” the books. I read the preview on this one and said, “meh”…..then I watched your previews and thought….”well, maybe a copy or two”. HA! Then I came home and noticed that all of the online stores were already out—-yeesh! Wish I would have pre-ordered some large numbers, but I can’t complain with the copies that I do have——a BIG thanks to you and your regular contributors or I would have passed it up…..

  2. I’ve heard/seen some shops have tons of copies and others are lacking. One shop I frequent had at least 10 copies of the regular cover and 5 of the variant. I picked up a set but my comic-budget is low till payday so I only had enough cash for that and my regular comic-items. If there are still a bunch of copies there in the future and the comic stays hot I may grab more, or see if any other stores have it!

    1. My local shop, about half their copies were pretty banged up… Like corner damage that caused spine breaks. I picked the best of the bunch and picked the best ones that I got signed as well…

  5. So, my lcs has an idiot who orders. Seriously. He only works one day a week, doesn’t know comics (he’s their card guy) but he’s the owners nephew. The Wednesday guy isn’t allowed to take over the order for some reason.
    If I don’t ask for a book 3 weeks before it’s out, I don’t get it. Needless to say, this one snuck up on me and I don’t have it 🙁

  7. I called my main Shop yesterday and told them to put one in my pullbox for me. I pre-ordered #2 and #3 from TFAW last night. Going to hit a store or two tomorrow to see if I can get another copy or two.

  8. Barren in my area. I’ve been looking forward to this book for months. Luckily my main LCS recalled me talking about it and set a cover A and B aside for me. No extras though. I missed out on this one big time. I was in love the second I saw the cover.

    1. I had 2 As and a B preordered, and then picked up another copy OF A yesterday. I called a bunch of shops today and managed 1 more A. So I snaggled 4 As and a B. The book is a ghost in my area now. I’ve got an A listed for $25 shipping included. A couple watchers, no bites yet though.

  11. My main LCS which usually orders heavy on new Image releases sold out fast as they barely got any in. Next shop, every copy had huge grabber dents at the bottom. Onward to other shops today to hunt for copies
