Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 3/29/17

Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones that we think will have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 3/29/17:
Anyone else kind of bored with March? It has been a quiet month. We have had a couple of winners here this month but quiet over all. This week keeps up the trend but I think the pick of the week is a winner. But first, the rest of the books…
Returning Favorites
Animosity #6 – Page count was a little low on the last issue, but still a great read and cool concept.
Dark Knight III Master Race #8 – Yeah, that Sienkiewicz cover is nice. Pricey but still an interesting read.
Deadly Class #27 -Rick Remender is one of those names you will hear here again and again. This is one of his best books ever.
Divinity III Stalinverse #4 – Red Russian revisionist history. Awesome. Has made me like characters from Valiant I didn’t care about. Check out cover A in all it’s glory… Amazing art.
Image Plus #12 – Was supposed to be the last chapter in Negan’s story, but has been expanded out more issues. For $1.99 it is worth the pick up.
Lord of Gore #2 – It has been a long time since the first issue came out. But I do love me some horror. This is slasher comics at their best. Cover A has an awesome 1980’s B movie poster look to it.
Moonshine #6 – Werewolves and gangsters. Great book. One of Image’s best yet most underrated books in a long time.
Rift #3 – Great book and great group of creators. If you haven’t read the book, check it out. Very strong Sci-fi story.
White #4 – This book knows how to build suspense. It has been crazy good. Woman trapped on the wing of a downed plane in the middle of the pacific. Giant crazed shark underneath. It is building to it’s finale and I cannot wait. Like the Shallows but better.
Small Press Pick of the Week
Space Riders Galaxy of Brutality #1 – I know I am probably stepping on Poyo’s toes with this one as He is a big fan of the series. But the “Pop Art” style art and colors and the cool over the top story makes this a must pick up. TFAW is already sold out.
The Pick of the Week
Hatchet #0 – established horror franchise, plus small, small print run, plus already sold out on Midtown and Tfaw. I think the “R Rated variant” and the “Blank Sketch” are the ones to get. There are copies available here. And Midtown has pre-orders for hand drawn copies. Ordering me one or two of those.
Wow, mostly returning favorites. In case you missed this week’s spec review video here it is:

That is it for us this week. Let us know what you are spec-ing on.

  1. Space Riders.. yeah! Spread the love and it’s been awhile since I recommended a “Black Mask” book..

        1. I read Hatchet. If you have seen the movies you will like it. Haven’t watched Lord of Gore 2 yet. Yes. Finding time is hard.
