  1. I’m sitting here on the couch next to my wife, who will liberate my manhood with a sharp blade if I buy another comic, should I risk it and grab the Foil Robotec? At thirty bucks she’s gonna be ripped but do I confidently justify it as a worthy pickup? I cant stop thinking about it….

  2. Not sure what new stuff I will get this week, but did pick up Batman Beyond first appearances (rumor or not). Also, for those who ordered SDCC Flashpoint #1 from the GRAPHITTI website, I e-mailed them and they replied they my order was shipped. So, I assume that means those who ordered from them early on should be getting them soon.

      1. Yeah, when I emailed them it took a few days for them to get back… The representative said they were all in San Diego and they were just starting to sort through everything. If the charge went through I would think that is because they have what you ordered in stock.Probably just a day or two from being shipped.

    2. I got an email from them yesterday saying they’d shipped, so I think we’re okay.

    3. Got my two copies in today. They both are curved and bend. They don’t lay flat as a comic should. Also one of the copies I got be spine is all beat up and has color breaks all over. Hoping they’re able to remedy this some how.

  3. Not a big week for me, Harley & Hillbilly. Walking Dead. Artgerm Robotech. Probably a few others …
    Last couple weeks were heavy.
    Couple pickups from the 50 cent boxes at the flea market…AllStar Batman Rebirth #1, Batman #24- 4th print (!), Darkhawk #1, and Wizard Magazine #s 1, 2, & 3 (posters intact).

      Wait for the video but 1st Deadpool, 1st Cable, 1st Preacher, 1st captain marvel, 3rd iron man

      2. Scored 3 copies of fantastic four annual 6 vg/fn, fn+, vf/nm. I’d say I’m prepared for the Fantastic two movie. Only thing that could make it better is if they utilize annihilus as the villain

  4. Any thoughts on Justice League 26? Saw stories about New characters, the JL’s kids from the future. Seems like a spec book to me, but no one is talking about it here.

    1. I haven’t read it yet, I pull Justice league anyways though.
      I always say for the small price of a single comic, you may as well buy an issue if it has a new character. You just never know when a random character is going to explode.

  5. Preacher has really became one of my favorite shows. Definitely top 3 behind Flash and TWD might even put it in front of TWD. When the show first premiered I wasn’t really onboard thought it was just a show with a heavy emphasis on violence after the first couple episodes. After learning about the characters and getting the whole Preacher story I can go back and really appreciate those first episodes. Last nights episode was fun the show is great ??

      2. I asked about these today myself, but my shop wasn’t so sure about them. I think it’s a crapshoot if I get any. I was told though that if they can get ant they’d go into my box. I asked for Deadpool, cable, asm, spider Gwen.

  6. I called my main shop, and told them to put a copy of Elsewhere #1 in my pullbox for me, it sounds like it might be pretty good. I’m not sure what else I’m going to pick up tomorrow yet.
    In the beginning of July I told myself that I am not going to order anymore comics for the whole month(except for my pre-orders) and besides 3 comics I made it, and you know what I really don’t feel like I missed out on anything. Those 3 comics I ordered I saw them a couple of days later on the shelf so I didn’t really need to order them.

    1. I do that sometimes too. I tell myself I need to limit my new comic purchases..that’s when stuff like Seven 2 Eternity #1 or the Batman Elmer Fudd slips by me lol

      1. I skipped Batman Elmer Fudd, who’da thought.. but Seven to Eternity, I had this gut feeling about that one.. I did good loading up on that one.

    Also found a copy of princeless #1 for less than $10 including postage….. I’m a little suspicious as to whether it is what it says it is due to all the hype following SDCC but worth the risk at that price.

  8. Picked up 4 copies of New Avengers #8 for cover price, Venom Sinner Takes All #2 for cover, Infinity #1, 4, 5 General variants, #3 & 4 design variants and FCBD for $40.

    Teen Titans Special #1 (Lazarus X 2 for cover)
    For PC, Doctor Aphra #4 40th Anniversary variant. The early parts of this 48 part variant set are really starting to dry up and getting expensive. Doctor Aphra #3 is upwards of $45 and this one is starting to move that way also.

    1. Thanks for the tips on the SW Anniversary variants..hadn’t noticed before that Mace Windu #1 will have a Leia cover may be a good one with the new film coming soon.

  12. I’ve made some really good progress on my little collection/comic cave 🙂
    My old couch could not make it down there due to size/stairs that change direction Midway. Good news is that my fience allowed me to buy a brand new one! So now I just have to wait for that to arrive.
    Also waiting until tomorrow to buy some new comic frames, as they go 50% off where I buy them.

    1. Nice conversations going on this week. Glad to see so much activity. Piecing together the four videos of my many pick ups now.

      1. I just get 9×12 poster frames by studio decor from Michael’s. They go on sale every few weeks.

      2. The frames are actually pretty good for the price. They’re $13.99 cad regular price, but I buy them when they go 50% off or buy one get one free. The comics tend to slide down a bit over time and need to be recentered about once a year. I find a piece of cardboard behind the backing paper before the back goes on holds them firmer.
        Here’s what I’ve got up so far. It’s a work in progress, I’m not finished yet!

        1. I need to get some. The ones I have been using are no longer in stock from Booksamillion. I like framing and hanging my variants for the site on the wall.

      3. Thanks! It’s still evolving but the whole basement is mine. For now :).
        There will be kids in our (not too distant) future (we hope). I figure I’ve got another year, then I’ll have to give up most of that basement. I’m keeping the dark blue half! I saved space there for the comic shelves.

      4. @brennan. There is a lil comic shop called R&D Collectibles in Aurora. They sell these pretty handy comic frames for $9.99 (I think). They are designed to hold comics, so they never have to be adjusted and I believe they offer UV protection as well.

      5. I just checked the box of the comic frame I was referring to. It is a ‘BCW current comic book showcase’. It has a 6 3/4″ x 10 1/4″ recessed area that holds comics perfectly.

        Really? I’ll have to go check it out.
        My only concern would be that they wouldn’t match my others.
        I suspect that we live closer than we realized.

    2. I hope it was Italian food, Anthony. Most other kinds of takeout make the car smell like farts.
      Also Midtown has put up cover price copies of the new Spectacular Spiderman # 1 signed by artist Adam Kubert. Pretty cool considering most of their signed books seem to be signed by the writer only.

      1. It was Mexican… Yes, the car smelled like farts. Tacos in a 100 degree car for an hour. Wife was none too happy about the food going bad.

    3. Awesome. Always look forward to these videos..Just out of curiosity what makes those He-Man Thundercats #3s at $25, just scarcity, or some sort of new character?

      1. Old comic signs are my new favorite thing. The funny thing was these were right around the corner from a comic shop that deals in old comics. They let them know they had a couple of long boxes in but they hadn’t been over yet.

      1. Me? Close to 40,000 books. I have a comic shop storage. I have 33 short boxes in my basement currently. More upstairs. More in storage.

      2. I’m guessing around 26,000. I have mucho drawerboxes with my old long boxes on top. I have a bunch of old stuff from my father and I collected in the 80’s & 90’s. Then I dropped out for a while and started back around 2010? Only because I found out they were making Dark Tower comics. I realized I had really missed comics when I started back up.

  19. super light week for me (as most weeks have been as of late.) picked up walking dead of course and also a few of those true believers reprints of classic silver age books.
    but what i was really excited about today was the return of image’s rocket girl! for those not familiar with the publishing timeline of this book, the issue coming out today is #8 and #1 came out October 2013.

      1. reeder didn’t do the art for mg+dd, just cowrote. and looks like her final contribution to the series was on issue # 18.
        im sure there are all kinds of (hopefully good) reasons for the “even crazier than black mask comics level” of delays for this book but eight issues over 4 years is pretty frustrating.
        glad it’s back though and i just hope it stays on schedule. same thing with lazarus.
