Yeah, you have to make it worth your money and do a big order to justify the shipping costs.
Yeah, but I only ever want the signed ones from this site and it’s tough to find six I want all at once to make shipping more efficient.
And the exchange rate kills it even worse. Damn I miss the days of currency parity.

You can sometimes get away with buying multiple copies, keeping one for your PC and then flip the other copies, to other Canadians who didn’t want to pay ridic shipping. This will help offset the shipping fees, but it’s risky and time consuming.
Most of the time Midtown limits the signed books to 1 per customer.
