Rick & Morty vs Dungeons & Dragons Sneak Peak Preview Giveaway

Who likes Rick & Morty? Who likes Dungeons & Dragons? Well, here’s your chance to win a copy of the GenCon Sneak Preview Variant. Read more on how to win a copy in this awesome contest.

Usually Anthony makes it really easy to win comics on CHU. It’s so easy that sometimes people don’t even read the rules and post their names, not realizing they’re trying to win a giveaway in the post that’s announcing the winner a week later.

This time it’s going to be different. Poyo here wants you all to work for it this time, because I’m evil. No worries though, I won’t make you work too hard.

Here’s the rules and it’s really easy while hopefully fun not only for you but for everyone who visits CHU:

  1. Draw me your best Rick, Morty or any other character from the TV show or comics.
  2. Post a picture of it here in the comments along with your name or handle (if you don’t know how to post or don’t have a way to link to your picture, feel free to send them to me at agentpoyo@gmail.com and I’ll post them here on your behalf, make sure you tell me your CHU or WordPress handle in the email so I can add that to the image).
  3. Do not spend more than 5-10 minutes on this. If you spend more time, that’s your choice.
  4. I don’t care if you use an existing picture to model your drawing from but please don’t trace one, there’s no fun in that.
  5. Those who have drawn Rick & Morty professionally are automatically disqualified (doubt they’d ever see this or enter but you never know right?)
  6. Please only one drawing per person per entry.
  7. If you’re international, we’ll likely ask you to chip in for shipping costs since shipping international is just crazy expensive most days.
  8. We’ll announce the winners a week from now after much ridicule and online shaming of everyone’s artistic skills. (I kid, I kid, seriously, if you can’t draw very well, we want you to enter into this contest as well).

Anthony and myself will be judges to pick 3 finalists. We’ll either score on pure awesomeness, sheer laughter or total absurdness or all 3. Make them funny, serious, color them if you want, pencil, pen, dry erase marker on the whiteboard at work or use crayons, any medium works. If you can do it as macaroni art, all power to you. But don’t spend a lot of time, seriously.

Once the 3 finalists are announced, you, the CHU community will decide the winner.

  1. Here’s just to give everyone an idea.. here is my own rendition of Rick I drew about a week ago that I spent no more than 5-10 minutes on.

I’m not entering my own contest. 🙂

    1. And I think that you and Tony should pick 3 finalists, then have the community vote for the winner.

  2. Jay Clue….I dont watch R&M, but I like Spider-Man. I am also a very bad artist. This is my rendition of R&M being watched over in disgust by Spider-Man.

      1. Do you feel the layers in my piece, Poyo? Michelangelo couldnt have done better himself. The teenage turtle. Not the renaissance artist.

  3. Great content idea Poyo. I already ordered a couple of these, can’t wait to see the three finalists

  4. Nice idea here sir Poyo. I’ll email you my drawing tomorrow so you can post it for me. Unless you wanna give me some tips on how to post it myself?

    1. I wonder if you need to have Photobucket and create a image link to the picture? I haven’t tried doing it yet. Just guessing.

    2. Try the app called ‘imgur’. With the app, you simply make a post using any photo from your phone. You upload the imgur post w/ picture and copy the link to the post. The jpeg imgur post will show up as a picture when the link is copied.

1. Im not sure. I simply upload the post on imgur, then immediately copy the link that my phone provides me when I hold my thumb down on the screen, prompting a ‘sharing’ menu. With one of the sharing options being ‘copy the link’. I then paste the link in my CHU comment snd once I post the CHU comment, it automatically converts the link into the image. Im not a computer guy at all. This is my best explanation.

        2. If you have a direct URL to an image that ends with .jpg or .png, no tags are necessary.

  5. #awesomesauce. I had an idea but will not share it as this site is family friendally darn family friendally safe for work b.s. lfove you all blind adam out

  6. No one else has posted new drawings? I am almost done with mine. It took me about 2hrs to finish it (not all in one day). I am doing the last detail and will post later today or tomorrow after work.

  7. So last night I was finishing up the drawing. My youngest came up to me and asked if he can draw with me and I said yes. He got his art supplies and dumped all of his color pencils on top of my drawing (I was drawing on the floor lol). So the drawing had a lot of pencil marks on it. My son said “your drawing looks cool cuz it has a rainbow now” I started laughing. So I started to add color to the drawing instead of the black and white that I was going to do. I am still working on it and will finish it today. So a 2hr drawing has turned into 5hrs now lol.

  8. I figured I’d have more entrants for this. Maybe I need to sweeten the deal up some.

Like Jayclue, I love Spider-Man as well and I’ve done bust sketches in the past.

Perhaps along with the Rick & Morty DD comic, I’ll personally sketch a Spider-Man similar to the one in the picture on an Amazing Spider-Man #1 Blank Sketch comic to give to the winner.

    1. I’ve been so surprised about the lack of entries as well!!! Especially considering how low I’ve set the bar for quality of entry!!!

    2. Now that it is the weekend you may get more entries since people will have some more time….Like me!

      1. I hope so. But I really do enjoy the 5-10 minute art work. I think it brings out the fun in the contest. But i do admit, Jesus spending a few hours on his, it was pretty awesome as well. But hopefully everyone knows I will not judge based on time spent. So if you want to do one in 1 minute like Brennan did or spend 2 days on it, its your choice.

  9. Finally off and making the last details to the drawing. Do note that I haven’t drawn in a long time. I say 2-3 years. So my proportion is off and my shadows are off lol. But over all, I had fun doing it.

  10. Here’s another entry via email by JTRodgers. Very classy, I was hoping for a Snowball one. 🙂
