Making me go broke this week Anthony!

  2. JayClue says:

Giving us the avg raw sale that includes every possible condition, does us no good. What good is a price guide of it doesnt have grades? Useless without grades.

    • Anthony says:

I wouldn’t say it is a price guide as much as a trending book guide. I think price guides are basically useless because things change daily. What I would say is it is new, they are updating the algorithms daily, and gives me some clues as to what to hunt for.

      • JayClue says:

I would agree with you, except for the fact that they include an avg price. Including that makes it a price guide, imo. If they wanted to present info on books moving, they would simply show units moved and what is trending up or down. And if they use real time sales in the algorithm, then as a price guide, it should be up to date in the ever evolving prices. I feel like the site has not yet figured out exactly what they want to be. They include prices, but its not a price guide? Its a great idea, just not nearly polished enough to give any money to, imo.

      • Anthony says:

        They do offer free accounts.

      • D-Rog says:

I’m with Anthony. It’s a way to make people aware of what’s heating up. It can’t be a “price guide” because it’s basically telling you there is not stable price at the moment as its rapidly changing. It enough information for me such that I can go to eBay and figure out the fine details by grade if I so desire.

      • Anthony says:

I use it as a list of what to pull and sell and what to look for at the honey hole. I find everything there.

      • agentpoyo says:

I don’t even care about the pricing they report, I can look that info up myself. I like knowing what were the biggest movers by volume. If what they’re reporting is based on % of volume moved from week X to week Y, then that’s good enough for me to know what’s currently trending and selling on the market.

    • fourstar77 says:

Totally agree. Raw prices without the context is actually worse than worthless because the price means nothing. Use it for sales trends but their raw book pricing has no value. Graded book info is helpful as those grades and prices are solid.

I like the concept of covrprice and it has decent presentation, but you need to know what you’re using it for.

I like Lyria as well, but I might be a bit biased as I work on the project. Lyria is completely free to use.

  3. Todd says:

I’ve always thought lyria comic exchange an awesome tool for ebay trends. https://www.lyriacomicexchange.com/bakedhomepage.html

More options if you use a tablet, pc or laptop.
