Anthony from www.comicsheatingup.net talks about day two of Baltimore Comic Con and shows off his pick ups for the day.
Day two was a much busier, very different day.

  1. Great write up. It’s nice to get the scoop considering some of us just can’t go because we live so far away. Love Frankie’s comics!

  2. Regarding CGC and their I-pad “kiosks”, I was completely frustrated with them as well at Terrificon a few months back. The biggest issue was they had difficulty connecting to wi-fi…they were trying to connect to the venue (Mohegan Sun) wi-fi. And it wasn’t working on any of them very well. There were long lines at the desk, and no one wanted to use the kiosks because they were so bad…but I suffered through it…after leaving and coming back FOUR times (yes, I’m a glutton for punishment). All I was doing was submitting three slabs for new slabs…no grading, so I didn’t want to get in line as I didn’t need to talk to anyone about their services and options, so the kiosk was easiest.
Anthony, I hope your BAtman 181 comes back w/out Newton rings…I think the older comics may get a different case than the newer ones, but not sure. I am also a CBCS supporter, but heir Turn-around times and turmoil due to the Beckett buy-out and move to TX has me on a wait and see position. with that said, I’m not submitting any new comics for grading to EITHER company until one of e gets their act together (CGC acknowledging the Newton rings are in fact a proble, and cbcs with their TATs and customer service).
Until that time I’m just using funds to stock up on graded and raw comics off of EBay.

    1. I used the iPads at Keystone Comic Con in Philadelphia and had no issue with them at all. They were easy to use the CGC people were great. I guess wifi just works better in Philly.

    2. I thought they solved that “Newton Ring” problem with those last generation holders. They’re back now??

      1. No. I think they’ve gone on record stating they rings are not a problem. People still post pictures of what they get back every day on forums.
