The DC B cover program has been really, well, killer. Big name artists on cover price variants. Deathstroke #37 Mattina Variant is one of them.
Deathstroke #37 Mattina Variant is out in stores November 7th.

Mattina is spitting hot fire. Battle lines variants are great but the “killer b’s” from Mattina, Putri et al have just been art. Marvel has to step that game up and DC needs to pull some hidden variants make it a hidden treasure hunt every Wednesday.
That would be cool.
Funny thing is, Marvel let Mattina go.. that’s why he’s now doing DC covers.. 😉
There is a reason they let him go….. could be because of some CHU posts.
I wasn’t gonna say anymore myself.. figured most would recall a certain incident. 🙂
What happened?
Yeah…… what happened? I’m completely drawing a blank on this. Unless it happened before I found CHU.
Google Search “Mattina Plagiarism” and you’ll likely stumble upon this which is a gif comparison where Mattina pretty much used other artwork for his own. v

So how is his different than an homage cover, exactly?
Well, it’s not really copyright issue since he’s altering the work but it’s a big artist shame because he’s passing other people’s work as his own. Can’t be a homage when he’s trying to pass it off as his own work.
Oh….ok I remember now.
