.) Rumor had it the new Thanos may make an appearance, no such luck. But we do get a new first appearance of sorts. Check out the spoilers below:
So where we left off… Starlord had started a new Guardians, and it is going great.
Meanwhile, we see another character who was presumed lost after the explosion of the last issue.
Alive, but a little worse for the wear.
Looks like he is starting his own team as well.
With a similar mission as Star Lord’s team.
The gang is all here well, except one…
And there you have it, first appearance of the Dark Guardians.
No Thanos?
Nope.
That’s disappointing… 1st team appearances don’t heat up typically :/
not a 1st appearance. not even named. Different characters. 1st appearance is in the next issue, #3. Just look at the cover.
The formation of the group is clearly there.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why is cosmic ghost rider on both teams? Or did I miss something?

How can there be a “new” Thanos ? Wouldn’t it just be somebody calling themselves Thanos ?
He sent his consciousness out and it is implanted into someone else.
Ok, now I get it. Maybe he had clones hidden across the universe just waiting for this moment.
But one’s consciousness is what defines them. Bodies are just the transport for our consciousness. So it wouldn’t be a new Thanos, it’s the same Thanos, just different ship carrying the goods..
I have a feeling a lot of innocents are going to die in this witch hunt… and on the flip side, can’t anyone claim to be Thanos? It’s not a secret that he’s coming back, it would be a great opportunity for anyone to claim to be Thanos and instantly inherit power, armies, etc. I’m def. looking forward to finding out 😀
