Spoilers: Immortal Hulk #20, A Fight, A Death, A First Appearance, and A Return

Immortal Hulk #20 is in stores tomorrow. It has been a crazy pace on the book so it is nice to see things be not so crazy and have a good old fight. But there is more to it than just the fight, we get a possible Hulk return and a possible full first appearance.

  1. Metatron is the “voice” of God, aka The One Above All who’s 1st appearance was FF #511. Every cheap copy of that FF went “poof” on ebay yesterday

    1. I don’t think being the ‘voice’ of God doesn’t actually mean it IS God, more like his messenger or lieutenant.

    2. I’m looking through FF511 right now and all I see is Ben Grimm’s brother Danny at most relaying messages but not identified as Metatron even if he’s actually serving in some version of that role temporarily for that story and he actually appears in FF 510 in that role on the last two pages, every panel of both so that means the version shown in IH20 is different and that 510 if you’re giving credit there is the book to chase. two full pages, 8 panels in appearance on them a full appearance make. I just see it as a full appearance of Danny Grimm and not Metatron.

  2. Metatron is invoked in issue 2 of Fantastic Four Atlantis Rising as far as I can tell and not issue 1 as listed on the Marvel Fandom Wiki.

  3. Step 1, dig up Thunderbolt ross (check)
Step 2, find Samuel Sterns (not a hard goal to accomplish)
Step 3, let the Immortal Hulk staff get involved and they’ll combine them into
Leaderbolt Ross!!!!!! (Red Hulk’s been done, Red Leaders been done)

      1. That makes more sense than the Metatron thing. I don’t think the IH20 appearance is enough to trigger a tidal wave of spec running the book up but it was a great read and now I know I’ll be getting my Leaderbolt Ross sooner rather than later from the series. It’s also left him in a hard spot to one up in terms of Hulk damage being taken seriously as a killing event. He clearly establishes that Red Harpy eating his heart was only to jump start the rebirthing. Between that and the jars what’s left? Maybe Ben Grim can figure it out in Fantastic Four 13. This can’t end well for Puppet Master any way it goes. Hulks no longer hesitating to kill regular humans as this issue shows again and explains why he did in the past.

    1. #1 has nothing to do with it and if the Collectors Preview does it’s so buried in text I don’t care enough to read all that and find out. #2 apparently a “voice is heard” which leaves IH20 open for 1st appearance comparible to Marvel Comics Presents #5. whether anyone cares or not I suspect will take at least issue 21 to generate a response for so the waiting game begins.

      1. Thanks for opining. It’s really interesting, this Metatron phenomenon. You’re right; we are going to have to wait and see where 21 goes.

  4. Any thoughts on the Immortal Hulk20 / Green Lantern 9 leading to a crossover with the two companies gamma usage this week?

    1. I think the one above all will appear. After speaking with a seasoned vet, I also believe the one from eternals 7 and ff 511 are the same character.

  5. What’s the source of that information? How does Information get fed into fandom.com?

My point is just because it’s posted on the internet doesn’t make it true, especially when it’s something like this where cameo vs. full has not statistical criteria and is entirely opinion based. Even cgc/cbcs disagree on cameo vs. full sometimes.

I’ve found errors on the marvel fandom pages before. I’ll reserve my judgement for when I read the book. Not that I really care either way. I don’t think this book has much future spec value.
