As promised, the Runners-Up list, think of these as the second part of the Top 20. Now then, on to #11-20.
#11 Sandman #8 (DC, 1989) The first appearance of DEATH sold 19 copies, had a 7-day trend of 370% and had a high sale of $550 for a CGC 9.8.
#12 No One Left to Fight #1 (Dark Horse, 2019) was a hot new series that was overshadowed by TMNT. It sold 24 copies, had a 7-day trend of 232% and had a high raw sale of $20.
#13 The Eternals #2– 25 Cent Cover (Marvel, 1976) Eternals is still the only MCU connected title that fans feel confident buying into right now. It sold 32 copies, had a 7-day trend of 158% and had a high sale of $787.77 for a CGC 9.8.
#14 The Eternals #1 – 25 Cent Cover (Marvel, 1976) Ditto. It sold 46 copies, had a 7-day trend of 97% and had a high sale of $350 for a CGC 9.6.
#15 West Coast Avengers #46 (Marvel, 1989) features the first appearance (as a team) of the GREAT LAKE AVENGERS. Other then the TV show that was announced a while back, it appears there are some rumors of Mister Immortal (who’s first appearance is in this issue) will appear in IMMORTAL HULK. It sold 41 copies, had a 7-day trend of 107% and had a high raw sale of $30.
#16 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #51 Artist’s Edition – (IDW, 2015) is the variant to find for Jennika’s first appearance as a human. She sold 11 copies, had a 7-day trend of 394% and had a high raw sale of $75.
#17 Ultimate Fallout #4 (Marvel, 2011) Miles still sells really, really well week after week. He sold 38 copies, had a 7-day trend of 95% and had a high sale of $375 for a CGC 9.8.
#18 The Walking Dead #191 – 1st Print (Image, 2019) Walking Dead hasn’t seen this much heat in years. It sold 19 copies, had a 7-day trend of 182% and had a high raw sale of $67.
#19 Savage Avengers #3 Bianchi Variant (Marvel, 2019) is a cool variant that sold 25 copies, had a 7-day trend of 125% and had a high raw sale of $45, which is under ratio (1:50).
#20 The Incredible Hulk #288 Newsstand (Marvel, 1978) is the first appearance of MOONSTONE. Marvel announced the new THUNDERBOLTS team, including Moonstone, in the recent PUNISHER #13. It sold 21 copies, had a 7-day trend of 157% and had a high raw sale of $45.
Hulk 228
Yeah, Hulk 228 might be a very good book to get…If you can still find them. The Captain America #192 is a good one as well. I think you were talking about both these books a few weeks back. I did happen to have these in the pc already but picked up a few extra of each just in case. Looking like it will be a good gamble.
I still question these numbers. I know one seller who sold more copies of Eternals #1 and #2 by himself last week than what covprice shows.
The bulk packs? There was a guy selling the hell out of 5 and 10 packs.
Yea, jscomics. They sold quite a few 5 packs of 1 and 2 but also a bunch of singles too the last couple of Sunday nights.
Might depend on the cut off date that Covrpice compiles everything. I hear you though. Seems last couple of weeks there have been some dealers with a ton of copies selling them all at once. A lot sold!
I was thinking maybe the market would be flooded a little, but demand is still very strong. I talk about Eternals a lot because I went all in with the title a couple years ago, but I am still a little shocked at how big it has become, Especially issue #1. Price wise it’s closing in on a lot of mid level, bronze age keys and has surpassed others already. Crazy! Once Marvel releases concrete info on the direction the Eternals movie/franchise is headed, 9.8 copies of #1 could very well jump to or get very close to 2 grand. By the time the movie is released who knows where pricing will be.
Also may depend if the bulk listings get ruled out as outliers. 10 and 5 copy lots will go for big money but may show as one sale. With a big sale with a well above average number, they could be excluded
Pretty sure that plays a factor into it as well.
What happens in 8 days if Eternals isn’t one of the movies announced by Marvel for the 8 slots? They could be misdirectioning everyone and hesitant to explore other unpopular past properties after Inhumans tanking.
Different animal though. That was a lower budget tv show. I will say I never thought Guardians would work.
Agreed. The MCU is an entirely different beast and the staple of the Marvel universe when it comes to the screen. The lower budget shows have had some success but the movies will always have bigger budgets, better creative teams and so on…
The MCU is a staple of the Marvel Universe? That isn’t redundant at all, Poyo. ?
Hey now.. don’t be pointing out my flawed mistyping shenanigans when I hadn’t had enough coffee.. or was just being stupid… or both. 😉
?
Always a possibility. “IF” that happened prices would go down but I think enough interests has been brought front and center that the property would still be in demand…just not nearly as much.
I read all the Eternal comics about 5 years ago and I enjoyed the Kirby run some but not much else. Gilgamesh, Sersi and others leaking into the Avengers lineups and cameo’s helped keep them thought about but I can’t really name a break out star from the whole race.
I’d love to get surprised by an Invaders movie set right after the end of Cap 1. Feature the 2nd Cap and Bucky, a whole slate of 40’s 50’s others can be included, more Howling Commandoes, maybe even an early Sgt Fury and more Dum Dum Dugan. Intro Namor to help Howard Stark retrieve the Tesserac from the ocean like avengers 1 said he did. Intro the android Human Torch as a lead in to a future FF torch. More Peggy Carter. Maybe Kazar and Logan pre metal claws in some 1950’s avengers story content. Huge chunk of real estate left untapped there that can be covered.
A-Force or Lady Liberators.
Pet Avengers
Power Pack
Korvac Saga as a lead in to a Contest of Champions story later.
Defenders (Original with Hulk, Dr Strange and Valkerie working Silver surfer in and setting up something with Galactus later)
I’d like to think something Fantastic or X but I’m suspecting that even when they do they’ll fly the Fox banner and not be counted as part of the big 8 coming. What’s the point in owning Fox if you aren’t going to release anything under their studios overseen by Marvel?
I really think the next yearof spec will depend on next weeks reveal or marvel.looking forward to the panel .take care love ya all blind adam out
We all think that, BA. Hall H has always been a spec hurricane.
