Free Comic Friday: House of X #1

Thanks to our friends at Summit Sports, Comics, and Games (check them out on Facebook) for sponsoring this one. They have an exclusive for House of X #1 by David Yardin featuring an homage to Uncanny X-Men 268 featuring the first cover appearance of Rasputin, the female Colossus character that has yet to make an appearance in the X-Men books.

We are giving a set away. One winner. One regular. One virgin.

  1. Uncanny X-Men 268 is probably my favorite cover of all time. Not because it has the best cover art but because it brings back my collecting nostalgia and its the first comic I remember buying at the LCS down the street when I was a kid. I do though never consider a first cover appearance when its a shop exclusive variant.

  2. cool new looking character. However, I pray they don’t get rid of Colossus….love that character.

    1. They’re not getting rid of Colossus. She’s from “100 years in the future” so it really makes no sense for her to even be on a cover with Wolverine and Cyclops. There would have to be some type of time travel story for it to even make sense.

        1. I tried to enter but I talk too much and can’t post on the forum for 18 hours.

“Rien, no last name because I never really knew my daddy. I know a song that can help you remember that if you want me to hum a couple bars.

If I win put it up for auction to benefit the site with a $5 starting bid. :money_mouth_face:”

I am curious now though since if the 6 issue series is set 100 years in the future then pretty much everyone in issue #1 is now going to be a 1st appearance. Sounds like the Agents of atlas book with lots of long term spec potential.

            1. Apparently some new user setting will not allow me to comment until 18 hours has passed which means not until sometime Monday so I copy pasted what was intended to be an entry over there here to show I was aware of the giveaway.

                1. I’m just letting you know. Today instead of 18 hours it says 36 minutes when I tried again. You may not have put it there but someone who built it did.

                2. It’s probably because you signed up with a new account from the same IP and new users are limited. Perhaps you should log back in as BJ instead of registering new accounts.

                3. I’m learning patience. I figured it was a good excuse to spend the day reading those Iron Man comics I’ve been slack on while I waited between customers. I might have to surf the HOX and POX prices some also. HOX1 has already sold out at Diamond. POX1 is down to only the blank cover left. I still have that itchy feeling of getting misdirected though that no X-Men were in HOX#1. I might have to scratch that every few issues if Ms Marvel can stay off the booze long enough to help Iron Man out.

      1. Isn’t she going to be in the new mutants movie that keeps getting pushed back? I don’t think they are getting rid of her. I think they got rid of everyone and they are doing a story about the descendants of these people. Which I think is a novel idea. Instead of time traveling we see what the future holds.

        1. Yes. Magik is definitely part of that New Mutants movie. I like the actress that plays her too. I dont know her name, but she was also in M.Nights Split movie. I want to call her Hayley Joel Osmond. But I know that is no where near correct. ?

            1. I’m starting to think the X-Men aren’t even IN House of X#1. I read another article that makes it look a lot like Professor X is actually Ultimate Universes reed Richards or at least in control of Fantomexs other brain right now and the whole naked X-Men hatching from pods thing screams genetic duplicates/fakes to me. The whole we’re gods and you’ll put up with us thing or else is more evil RR’s deal than akin to anything PX has portrayed in the past.
I’m starting to think they’ll show up on some space ship type thing blinked in situation in #6 to right the ship having just gotten back from Age of X-Man at that point. The cover even suggests something like that for #6. Some giant spaceship looking thing. POX #6 even seems to suggest they end up time travelling to wipe out all the Fake X-Men in their book in #6. https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG190879

              1. Hickman likes to reuse his own ideas. The looks of professor X is almost identical to Reed Richards from Ultimate Fantastic Four so there may be some truth to that.
