Mel V.’s Variant Picks for August 7, 2019

What up CHU? Mel V. back in the house with another good looking week of variants. If you haven’t done so, check out my Mighty Mel Youtube channel for the “It’s Drunken Chat, Son” podcast. Drinks are consumed, comics are talked about, and while it may not be safe for work, it is a good time. Anyway, here is what I am feeling this week.

Kinda small week but some big names.

Batman Vol 3 #76 Cover B Variant Gabriele Dell Otto Card Stock Cover – Just the way I do not like Marvel’s theme of the month cover, I don’t like DC’s, especially when the push the price up a dollar. Unless, that is, there is a cover by the master, Dell Otto, then I will grab one.

KISS The End #4 Cover E Incentive Stuart Sayger Virgin Cover– Now I know I have mentioned that I love Kiss. These Sayger Virgin covers go right into the personal collection for me.

Absolute Carnage #1 Cover J Incentive Gabriele Dell Otto Cult Of Carnage Variant – My man Dell Otto makes the list again this week with this crazy Carnage cover. There will be a million copies of this book printed and with store variants these should be to too hard to chase down for a 1:25 variant, so don’t pay too much. But there is something to this cover, like texture, that makes this seem real.

Black Cat #3 Cover C Incentive Jen Bartel Variant Cover – Black Cat just chillin with a hand full of stolen jewelry on this great looking Jen Bartel cover. It caught my eye, and I like it.

and Black Cat #3 Cover D Incentive Frank Cho Variant Cover – You do not see many Cho ratio covers as of late. Meow!

Savage Avengers #4 Cover B Variant Gerardo Zaffino Bring On The Bad Guys Cover – This is that, I do not like Marvel theme of the month covers, but…. Gerardo Zaffino provides art, and if this was a ratio people would pay big bucks.

Dark Age #1 Cover B Incentive Variant Cover – There is a lot going on here, the American flag in the share of a maple leaf, post apocalyptic Statue of Liberty wearing lady. Its a good cover, do not get me wrong. And this book was optioned already.
