Welcome once again to my spec and my drek. I pick what I think will be winners, not only if you make money by flipping but winners as in either a great read or just awesome art.
Then there’s the pesky drek, the comic you should avoid altogether or not fall into the buying every variant trap.
It’s Christmas week and it’s a really small week. Only the hardcore comic nerds will be hitting up their shops the day after Christmas. Are you a hardcore nerd? Let us know if you celebrate Christmas the day after Christmas by going out and buying more books for yourself.
DC Picks
There are no DC books so this weeks pick was easy, none of them! Actually I did already mention the new Omnibus House of Secrets the Bronze Age Omnibus HC Vol 02. So if you haven’t gotten yourself a Christmas present yet and you’re looking for some classic bronze age reading, this is for you.

Marvel Picks
It’s an awesome cover, it’s just too bad I’ve been told it’s all filler story and nothing of importance happens. It’s the Crain Variant that’s my pick this week. This is the start of Venom Island so I’m sure we’ll continue to need to keep an eye on this series as Donny Cates likely has something hidden up his sleeves.
It’s a PC pickup though. I don’t think this one will heat up.
Indie and Small Publisher Picks
It’s the only pick cause it’s pretty much the only book, besides a few Image books that are just reader books.
Each found guilty of an irredeemable crime, four robots find themselves banished from their home world and bound together by the Kill Lock-a programming link that means if one of them dies, they all will. Now a soldier, an addict, a murderer, and a child find themselves forced to protect each other while in search of a cure to survive.
Now on with the dreaded “avoid” pick, every writer and artist worst nightmare when it comes to selling their hard work.
Incoming #1. Just seems like a pointless cash grab of a event title. If you do want to read it, buy the cover priced variant that you like best and don’t look back.
