Covrprice Top 10 List for 12/27/19

Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBaytrends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Christmas is a notoriously slow week for comic aftermarket sales. Maybe everyone spent too much on gifts? Maybe everyone had too much eggnog?

#1 Star Wars The Clone Wars #1 (Dark Horse, 2008) The Jedi, Ahsoka Tano, is rumored to appear in a future Star Wars Disney+ series. Her first appearance is in this issue. Her live-action appearance would be well received and send this into crazy new price heights. She’s been a fan-favorite character since the animated Clone Wars series. The standard cover sold 11 copies, had a 7-day trend of 341% and had a high raw sale of $100. Also, check out the variant. It’s selling for $250 raw and hit a crazy high sale of $748 for a CGC 9.8 on March 30th, LONG before any rumors started. That book is going to be a beast!

#2 Miles Morales Spider-Man #13 (Marvel, 2019) The first appearance of Billie Morales (as a baby) is still selling really well. It sold 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 101% and had a high raw sale of $16.

#3 Astonishing X-Men #6 (Marvel, 2004) S.W.O.R.D. first appeared in this issue. Recent set photos from WANDAVISION leaked out, showing the S.W.O.R.D. symbol. This was enough to confirm the organization’s first appearance in the MCU. Unconfirmed is Abigail Brand in the series, who also makes her appearance in this issue. This sold 31 copies, had a 7-day trend of 111% and had a high raw sale of $18.

#4 Ultimate Fallout #4 (Marvel, 2011) This first appearance of Miles Morales is one of our top-selling books. It sells constantly and holds it’s value VERY well. This week, it sold 26 copies, had a 7-day trend of 121% and had a high sale of $380 for a CGC 9.8. (Find on MCS)

#5 Doomsday Clock #12 (DC, 2019) Dr. Manhattan vs. Superman. That’s enough of a sell to get comic fans to pick this up. It sold 25 copies, had a 7-day trend of 126% and had a high raw sale of $14. (Find on MCS)

#6 Killadelphia #1 LCSD 2019 Variant (Image, 2019) COMICSHEATINGUP broke the news that creator Rodney Barnes let it slip that his title has been optioned for TV. It has not been officially announced. It sold 10 copies, had a 7-day trend of 269% and had a high raw sale of $13.

#7 Miles Morales Spider-Man #13 Rahzzah 2020 Variant (Marvel, 2019) Like our #2 spot, this variant is also a strong seller that is hard to find. It sold 14 copies, had a 7-day trend of 131% and had a high raw sale of $15.

#8 Secret Invasion #1 Gabriele Dell’Otto Regular Cover (Marvel, 2008) Secret Invasion MCU rumors have been heating up. This was a BIG storyline, so they should be pretty easy to track down in back issues and dollar bins. It sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 133% and had a high raw sale of $16. (Find on MCS)

#9 Crisis On Infinite Earths #1 Walmart Exclusive (DC, 2019) We all know that speculation on WB TV shows have been pretty dead, if not slow. However, the big WB crossover event based on this popular DC game-changing series piqued fans’ interest in the comic series. It also helps that these can be hard to track down at Walmart. It sold 16 copies, had a 7-day trend of 104% and had a high raw sale of $20.

#10 Star Wars The Rise of Kylo Ren #1 Carnero Variant (Marvel, 2019) Without spoiling the film for those who have yet to see it, this 1:25 pairs very well with the RISE OF SKYWALKER events. It sold 11 copies, had a 7-day trend of 138% and had a high raw sale of $55.

  1. After the Mando finale I would say stick to direction they are going. It would be really hard to do her story because she’s Anakin’s padawan you don’t want to recast such a vital role in the Star Wars mythos.

  2. Saw about a dozen of those Walmart Crisis giants at Walmart he other day…I think the demand/scarcity is not as bad as it seems.

    I didn’t grab any.

Also passed on a Secret Invasion #1 and two copies of Miles 13A (covers were damaged).

  3. Star wars Kylo Ren #1 is the unexpected hit of the last 2 weeks. Perhaps, recent release of Star wars rise of Skywalker film has some impact on market?
