Judge Dredd False Witness #1

Written by Eisner-nominated, Glyph Award-winning writer of comics and TV Brandon Easton (Star Trek: Year Five, Transformers, Agent Carter) with superstar artist Kei Zama (Death’s Head, Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye) making her Judge Dredd debut!

Justice Academy drop-out Mathias Lincoln has built a comfortable life working as a courier for Mega-City One’s most elite citizens. But after he uncovers a horrific conspiracy stretching from the Cursed Earth to the city’s seats of power, Mathias also finds himself pursued by legendary lawman Judge Dredd!

Yes please..  Love me some good Dredd stories.

Transformers vs Terminator #1

It’s Skynet vs. Cybertron in a crossover for the ages!

1984: When a deadly race of machines emerge from another time, will a robotic guardian be able to protect the Earth from a dire future… or will the T-800 fail in his mission to prevent the world from becoming a plaything to the Decepticons?

Sounds like a great ‘Versus Mashup’ of some of my fondest pop culture characters from the 80s.

Image Comics

Decorum #1

SERIES PREMIERE!

There are many assassins in the known universe. This is the story of the most well-mannered one.

‘Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what knife you use.’

Jonathan Hickman usually does not dissappoint with his Image titles and series, except when he doesn’t finish them..  yes, I’m still bitter about Dying and the Dead. But I’ll give him a chance on this new series.

Mercy #1

SERIES PREMIERE! When the placid mining village of Woodsburgh is disturbed by a series of brutal murders, the settlement is in turmoil. And as the first snow covers the chaos in a white blanket, a mysterious woman in black arrives, eliciting a totally different kind of unrest.

But who is Lady Hellaine, really? And what’s her secret agenda?

Acclaimed UNNATURAL creator MIRKA ANDOLFO presents a sensual Victorian gothic horror about otherness, damnation, redemption, and what it means to be a monster in a horror tale perfect for fans of Penny Dreadful, Crimson Peak, The Alienist, Parasol Protectorate, and Dark Shadows. Visit gotmercy.me for additional MERCY bonus content, including exclusive art, a live-action comic trailer, and supplemental story material.

They really seemed to push this title hard during NYCC, at least from what I heard from those in attendance at the Diamond Retailers Appreciation Breakfast, showing the several minute long live action short film that depicts this book.

Undiscovered Country #5

‘DESTINY,’ Part Five-The key has been found, and now it’s a race to find and unlock the gate leading deeper into the former United States before the Destiny Man catches up with our team, tears them apart and feeds every last chunk to his hungry beasts.

I’m still in on this one. At least through the first story arc.

Tartarus #2

‘HOMEGOING’: Tilde’s on the run from an empire.

Klinzu has a date in a war zone. Their plan, a fiery escape to the most dangerous place in the galaxy: Tartarus.

Includes ‘LIFE,’ a new backup story by STEPHANIE COOKE and MEGAN HUANG, exclusively in single issues.

Dark Horse has a lot of books hitting shelves that are of interest for me which wraps up the Small Publishers for January 2020 Previews..

  1. Being a Transformers fan, that TF vs, Terminator series is intriguing. I might have to grab the first issue just for the cover!

  2. The fabric of reality and the fabric of society are both in danger? March is shaping up to be quite eventful.

  3. Dont forget about Black Monday Murders, Hickman never finished that either. The Final 2 issues were solicited but still never came out…lol
