Covrprice Top 10 List for 1/10/20

Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBaytrends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )

#1 ANGELA ASGARD’S ASSASSIN #1 (MARVEL, 2014) It sold 27 copies, had a 7-day trend of 473% and had a high sale of $17 for a raw copy.

#2 STAR WARS THE RISE OF KYLO REN #1 (MARVEL, 2019) We felt that RISE OF SKYWALKER was pretty much Kylo Ren’s film. Without giving too much away, his cinematic arch spiked interest in this series. With the variants all doing VERY well, it’s interesting to see this standard cover do so as well. It sold 40 copies, had a 7-day trend of 83% and had a high sale of $80 for a CGC 9.8 (selling for $20 raw).

#3 MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #13 (MARVEL, 2019) The first Billie Morales (as a baby), Miles sister, happens in this issue. It sold 24 copies, had a 7-day trend of 105% and had a high sale of $29 for a raw copy.

#4 THE NEW MUTANTS #1 (MARVEL, 1983) A new updated (and MUCH better looking) trailer hit last week. This is finally coming out! With a little more faith in this title, collectors went for this 2nd full team appearance and bought 16 copies, had a 7-day trend of 159% and had a high sale of $81 for a CGC 9.8.

#5 DETECTIVE COMICS BATMAN 80TH ANNIVERSARY GIANT #1 (DC, 2019) Wow! This Walmart exclusive has us scratching our heads. It had a sizeable print run (estimates are around 3K) and nothing happens in it. Yet, it hit $213 raw this week! The market, as always, determines what something is worth. It sold 17 copies, had a 7-day trend of 139% and had a high sale of $213 for a raw copy.

#6 STAR WARS #3 (MARVEL, 1977) The recent STAR WARS: RISE OF SKYWALKER film stirred up lots of STAR WARS interest. This saw a high grade, raw copy sells for one of it’s best prices in awhile. Which was enough for it to land on this list. It sold 12 copies, had a 7-day trend of 182% and had a high sale of $47 for a raw copy.

#7 INCOMING #1 (MARVEL, 2019) With a $9.99 price tag, this entry is nothing to write home about or rush out for a copy. Sometimes a book just sells better than other titles and it trends enough to land on our list. It sold 21 copies, had a 7-day trend of 99% and had a high sale of $10 for a raw copy.

#8 SPAWN #1 (IMAGE, 1992) Behold, our site’s best selling raw comic! Spawn #1! It sells consistently week after week and sold 14 copies, had a 7-day trend of 137% and had a high sale of $125 for a CGC 9.8.

#9 VENOM LETHAL PROTECTOR #1 (MARVEL, 1993) Venom: LP #1 is no slouch either. With other key VENOM books well outside of most price ranges, this is the next easy entry title. It’s his first solo series and is easily one of the most nostalgic covers for anyone who grew up collecting comics in the ’90s. It sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 135% and had a high sale of $77 for a CGC 9.8.

#10 SPAWN #9 (IMAGE, 1993) Speculation is around that Angela is due for an MCU appearance. As Thor’s half-sister, it’s possible. It sold 14 copies, had a 7-day trend of 112% and had a high sale of $62 for a CGC 9.8.

  1. #1 was available at Midtown today for under $5. Sold out now.

I thought you couldn’t put these out until Thursday? Or does UTS count…? ?

  2. could angela be the next big thing?batra ray bill is ot as is she-thor jane foster along with hella&once apon a time sif.so are books like spawn #97 classiccover the mini series from image &whatever issue explained she was thor&loki’s half sister be on the rise?plusspawn series 2 action figures is her first in plastic action figure working on hidden gems later love ya all blind adam out

  3. There was a lot of lying on the print run of the Walmart comic. Someone who makes YouTube videos and apparently has a lot of people following them had the print run much lower and also stated they were only going to around 60 of the Walmart’s nationwide. It maybe on the forums here. CGC forums for sure. I’m doing some more research but these people need to be called out for their bullshit lies.

  4. it makes sense for angela interest to drive sales of spawn 9 but what’s up with angela: asgard’s assassin #1? $17 for a raw copy? what am i missing here? it’s my understanding that age of ultron # 10 is her first marvel appearance.

          1. so her name is sera luassa and i haven’t read angela asgard’s assassin but it sounds like sera is somewhat of a “sidekick” to angela.
kevin feige just confirmed that there is a trans character in an mcu movie that they’re shooting right now, so i think that all but confirms angela is coming to the mcu.
