One Week Later Report for January 29th, 2020

Welcome once again to another installment of the One Week Later Report. It’s been since December of last year we deemed such a report worthy enough for mentioning books from the previous week. Usually books that heated up or were good picksup for flipping, even going as far to report if books feel flat and you can now find at cheaper prices.

This week we’ll cover the books released on 01/22/2020.

Batman Beyond #40 we finally saw the identity reveal of the new Batwoman.

Some had been speculating that it was Grayson’s daughter Elainne for several months, those who were dead set on that speculation deserve a cookie for guessing correctly.

The regular cover is a solid $10 book on average. The Variant B cover by Manapul is $10 to $15 on average, a lot of BIN with best offers taken from a quick glance. So if you see these on the shelf at the shop, grab’em, you can still flip for double your money potentially.

Elainne Grayson made her first appearance in Batman Beyond #25. Not a bad pickup I think for the long term gamble. I don’t think she’ll be going away anytime soon. I’ve heard rumors she’ll be getting her own series soon, which is a rumor very likely I think due to the speculator popularity attention she’s garnered for the past few months.

Also Batman Beyond #25 had a foil cover, so we all know how those do when it comes to mint condition.

This identity reveal also helped boost sales again of issue #37, the first full appearance of Batwoman. There was a cameo first appearance in #36 but the winners here in the long run I think will be #25 and #37.

This next book is a nice flip if you got for cheap or cover price. Most retailers likely started this one around the $60 to $75 range but it saw a sale as high as $150.

It’s Atlantis Attacks #1 JeeHyung Lee 1:50 variant.

A must for any JeeHyung Lee fan collector. His artwork is pretty top notch so add it to a ratio variant and it can drive the price up.

This next Marvel book sold out quickly but it seems you might be able to snag at cheaper prices if you time it right and snag them quickly on the secondary market.

Conan Serpent War #4 Mercado 1:50 variant is seeing recent sales around the $28 but did top out around the $90 area. A few sales in-between as well.

Seems like the collectors who wanted them nabbed them so for anyone who missed out, time to watch and snag at a lower price as they start to fall.

Great looking cover though, I think one of the draws of it was Moon Knight on it. Grab it if you find it cheap, could still be a worthy flip to the right buyer.

There was also a Christian Ward 1:25 variant that had Moon Knight primarily on the cover. Pretty cool cover, not astonishing but it did see some sales in the $20 range. Not bad for a book most shops likely priced around $10 to $15. Some lower side of the sales on the secondary were around the $10 range.

For you Dylan fans out there who were banking on Web of Venom Good Son #1 Sandoval ratio variant, hope you didn’t spend too much on this one.

Sales I’d say are averaging around the $40 range. Some lower, just a few a tad bit higher. You could pick this up from Midtown at their 15% off discount for $42.50.

Not that eventful of a book if you ask me. I can only see the price for this one to continue dropping. There are alot of BIN around the $38.99 range. I think as more decide to list, there will be undercutting as retailers and sellers want to dump these off quickly rather than hold out.

Holler in the comments if I missed anything. Tell us what you picked up from last week, what good flips you did, what you’re looking for this week from the back issues..
