imagine being the only person in an entire comic con. I’ve had dreams about that. elbow room, bargains and no lines…( but in reality, stay well, everybody. we’ll get through this and meet at the next con..)
Empty Javitts Center.. that’s what NYCC is gonna look like if this coronavirus craze doesn’t settle down. Plenty of elbow room but nothing to buy, as no one will be there selling.. 😉
How does that work for the hotels already purchased by people? It’s separate from the con so I can’t see them being too sympathetic.
I would expect that most hotels will allow reschedules and refunds. They don’t want to risk the bad press for taking advantage of the crisis. Most every airline has already volunteered that changes and cancellations the next few months won’t incur normal fees.
(I’m flying to NYC in a few weeks and a flight that’s normally $500-600 roundtrip is now $190. The airlines are getting crushed right now.)
I might check out flights just to get in a cheap trip..
That also stinks for Time-Off Requests. At that point it’s too late to change the schedule at my workplace so you’d be stuck having to take the time off with nothing to do, and then have less leverage to get a week off later in the year…
