Poyo’s FOC Highlight Book for 3/16/2020

Another FOC Monday is upon us comic book collectors and speculators. FOC is the last chance to put in your orders with your comic shops and likely get at a discount for pre-ordering.

This weeks FOC list is big again, just like last week. Now, some will be going for the Batman #89 3rd Printing (which has the same cover but minimal trade dress, so not their usual same cover different colors), which isn’t a bad pickup (I know Drog, I know.. ) for the long term hold I think or just for those who missed out on the 1st or 2nd prints (which prices seem to be settling down but the first print is still a solid $30-$40 book).

There’s also Hell Arisen #3 3rd Print on FOC this week which I think has a very suitable purple colorized cover for the new printing, to match that new gal Punchline. I guess it’s also a very popular color for Joker himself as well.

Year of the Villain Hell Arisen #3 (of 4) (3rd Printing)There is also a Nightwing #70 (2nd Printing) that was almost announced as fast as people figured out the first printing was on fire with pre-sales, all because Punchline might be making an appearance (I think that’s the reason. Honestly I don’t think anyone truly knows why Nightwing #70 is heating up as of yet).

Now on with the real pick this week. I try to limit my FOC picks down to just one book (but at times I have to mention a few others, clearly, if you’ve made it this far).

This week it’s the book that’s sort of seeing heat for earlier issues while kind of flying under the radar due to all the Punchline mania, that’s Thor #5 and Black Winter is here..

There’s also a 3rd printing now for Thor #2. The first printing is seeing some nice love on the secondary market.

  1. Yeah. It’s cool DC is trying something different with the 3rd print. Would have been better mid they would this with the 2nd Prints (limited trade dress) if they’re not going to have new cover art (or they make these 2nd prints in haste to just get it out there while there’s still demand).

So we’ll see what the future holds for DC 2nd prints. I’d like to see more of the limited trade dress in 2nd prints.

I like the purple cover too.
