It’s day 11 of my own lock down reading challenge, to read books that have been on the ever growing read list. This week I go with a iconic Marvel Event that we might see sooner than later in the upcoming movies, since it includes Kraven the Hunter.
Tonight I’m reading the Marvel Event, Kraven’s Last Hunt.
Been wanting to get some Spider-Man reading in and it’s been such a long time since I’ve read this story line long ago, figured under the circumstances, could use a refresher.
The core story is spread across three Spider-Man titles which includes The Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man and Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man.
Starting in Web of Spider-Man #31 with Part 1: “The Coffin”. The story then carries into Amazing Spider-Man #293 Part 2: “Crawling”.
Then came Part 3: “Descent” which crossed over into Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #131. Part 4: “Resurrection” I think is one of the cooler covers out of all of these (redone for the TPB as you can see above), heading back to Web of Spider-Man #32.
The story then goes back to Amazing Spider-Man #294 Part 5: “Thunder” and then closes out back in Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #132 Part 6: “Ascending”.
How many of these books do you have in your collection? Most of these can still be found pretty cheap. Not a bad set to put together for display up on the wall if you ask me.
If Kraven shows up in the upcoming movies, I wonder myself if any of this story line makes it into the script.
I never really liked that cover, as it doesn’t scream “rising from the grave!” so much as it just looks like he’s sitting in dirt. The splash page where he grabs the grave to pull himself up is much better, has an EC horror vibe.
