“We open things up to hear from you. A free for all.”
Isn’t that in violation of state mandated social distancing protocols?!
Nope. Stay 6 feet apart when commenting.
And wear a mask, too you! Put down the comic, Be a real superhero and save a damn life! ;0)
I had to go to the gas station the other night. Wore a medical mask covered by another face mask. Plus wore gloves and used a grocery bag to touch the pump. Everything into the trash and hand sanitized before I got back I to the car.
All this distribution nonsense going on, I better get my GD books.
You know what I haven’t had in a while?
Big League Chew…
Ha. I have. The joys of coaching baseball. But not this season. This season we had two practices before they shut us down.
I did a vid of my next CGC submission if anyone is interested:

Peace.
Received in the mail:
I, Lusiphur/Poison Elves 4-10 (Finished my sets of Vols. 1&2. Doing some research, #4 had a print run of 850 and #5 had a print run of 400. Still can’t find the print run of #3 although it is listed as low print run. Does that mean even lower than #5? I asked Robb Horan via email and he said, “ Somewhere deep in the company records when Sirius first signed Drew on in 1996, a listing of the Mulehide print runs was recorded. So, that exists, but I’ll be darned if I would know where to start looking. Either way, we bought out the entire inventory and re-distributed it to independent sellers at that time, so they all technically sold out except for the 2nd printing of I Lusiphur #2.”)
Ordered:
An original page of art from Brandon Graham’s King City. My daughter and I bonded over one page in particular, where the main character uses his Inspector Gadget-like cat as a periscope. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger.
Neil Gaiman’s Snow Glass Apples HC signed by Colleen Doran via her website. I think I read this just won an award. I didn’t buy the HC when it came out because I was hoping CBLDF would put out a NG signed copy but that didn’t happen. I do have the original small chapbook.
Notes:
Terry Moore has issues of Strangers in Paradise Five Years #9 & #10 available directly from him on his website. The preorder for #10 will have a different cover than will eventually hit stores and will be limited to the preorder total.
I don’t normally buy Funko Pops although I do have an Alien, Sandman’s Death, and Pickle Rick. I have noticed that the ECCC/GameStop D&D Gelatinous Cube figure is moving up in price. It was released at $15 and last I looked, selling for $40.
If you are a James Stokoe fan, Cadence Comic Art has many of his original pages on sale, some as low as $75.
If you play MTG, you already know this, but for those that don’t, Wizards partnered with Toho to create the new set Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths with Godzilla cards.
I shouted out your I Lusiphur grab on the laters video with Blond Adam. Good stuff.
Of note in the Robb Horan quote was that there was a second print of #2. Drew casually mentioned a second printing in his Starting Notes, but I’ve never seen any other mention until now and don’t know how to differentiate the two. I have the question up in a PE group now. It may be why #2 is easier to find.
Also, I didn’t know Adam was blonde. Learn something every day.
He is gray. Lol or like me going gray
Tony, I watched the shout out and appreciate it. I picked up the I, Lusiphur #3 for $75. I agree with you that these books are coming out of long term collections and are being sold now. Therefore, now is the time to be on the lookout for your grails cheap when they pop up. That being said, I also think there is some pent up need to buy things now, and some sellers are capitalizing on that too on the opposite end of the spectrum, being able to sell books that have been listed for a long time. And, like I say above, now is the time to pick up original art as artists are trying to keep the income rolling by placing pages on sale. Almost any original art of published pages you can pick up for under $100 is a steal. A batch of Drew Hayes art just sold on eBay with many pieces selling under $100. I was told Sirius paid Drew more for them originally to make Poison Elves than for what they are now selling. I mentioned James Stokoe pages on sale for $75. I’m sure there are similar deals out there for other artists.
Examples of books coming out of collections that I have seen recently on eBay: Cavewoman Jungle Tales 1 early if not the first Frank Cho cover, Genus 2 & 4, Hit the Beach 1, Spicy Tales 11, Best Cellars 1. It took me several years of hunting in the far reaches of the internet to find my copies since they never came up. The Frank Cho book had a 9.8 and a 9.6 slabbed copy last time I looked on eBay. I found my copy raw, just glad to have it, got it signed and pressed and it came back a 9.6.
Midtown has comics up for next week. I was too late and missed out on Nightwing 70 2nd print.
