Temuera Morrison to Appear as Boba Fett in The Mandalorian Season 2

Mando fans and Star Wars fans in general will be happy to hear that Boba Fett will be in The Mandalorian Season 2.

As a result of the news, could see movement on Star Wars #42, Boba Fett’s first appearance in comics and Star Wars #68 his origin issue. (And if the rumors are true, we could see his daughter, Ailyn Vel, who appears as a baby in Star Wars Tales #7 and as an adult in Star Wars Blood Ties #2).

From ComicBook.com

Fans have been hoping for a return from Boba Fett since his seeming demise in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, with ComicBook.com able to independently confirm that the figure is set to appear in the second season of The Mandalorian. The bounty hunter was originally played by Jeremy Bulloch in his debut appearances, with Star Wars: Attack of the Clones seeing Temuera Morrison playing his father Jango Fett and introducing the notion that Boba was a clone of his father. Since this reveal, Morrison has voiced the character in subsequent releases of the original trilogy of the films and will play Boba Fett in the live-action series.

The figure is said to only play a small role in the narrative.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to confirm the news.

  1. Star Wars Tales 7 just shot through the roof…a copy sold for $140 and all others are currently listed for $140 and up.

Just picked up a copy for $15 a few days ago just because I liked the cover….glad it’s already in route otherwise I’d expect the seller to cancel the transaction.

      1. Escape from Monster Island #1 cover E is first female Boba Fett on a cover has a print run of 100

          1. They reprinted it on a convention exclusive this year so there is a renewed interest only one cope for sale on line a cgc 8.5 last 9.8 went $175 a month ago.

    1. What retcon? It was really well established that Boba survived the Sarlacc. IF we could have one badass representation of Boba Fett in either television or film, that would be a win. Even his original appearances in ESB and ROTJ have him merely standing around or getting involuntarily jetpack launched into a sand mouth.

His first appearance in the holiday special was goofy as hell, his whiny little boy rep in Attack of the Clone and Clone Wars did nothing good for his reputation. If I can trust anybody to actually make Boba Fett badass on screen, I’ll trust those that brought us Mando Season 1.

      1. We can only hope Fett gets redemption in the Mandalorian show.. which by the way, I finally finished. I was quite pleased with. Can’t wait for season 2 now.

  2. How is this a retcon? The rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated…

    Could also be a flashback…

    1. Because he died in Return Of The Jedi that’s how it’s a retcon, the movie is worth a watch arguably the best of Star Wars anything. He did not survive because if he did General Han and the in power at the time rebels after ROTJ would of hunted him down. That’s why and sure there is one or two non canon stories where Boba survives ones a video game and the other Boba is revealed to be a female are the two I recall. Real Star Wars fans hate retcons and alternative time lines to their precious canon film universe and why they were so against Disney owning the franchise. Fake Star Wars fans celebrate the retcons like order 66 having Jedi’s survive so they can runout and buy 1st appearances and flip to make some money and call it a new grail book.

      1. Clone Wars wasn’t made canon until 2014 so Disney has used this show as its way of changing the Star Wars universe in the image they want. So we have to see horrible retcons like Darth Maul surviving and becoming a crime boss with no consequences from the Emperor instead of revenge forgiveness not a Sith trait. Also it shits all over the Rule of Two the Sith have. Stuff like this is why the Star Wars box office has been in decline since the Force Awakens. People don’t go out and see the new movie when you make the cherished movie of their childhood worthless.

      2. I wouldn’t call it a retcon when the EU and Dark Horse books have stories about Boba Fett surviving, teaming up with Dengar, and going on adventures. True, they’re no longer canon after Disney bought Star Wars and killed the EU, but for a time, those books were Lucasfilms continuations.

      3. I don’t agree with much of what you’re saying. A body was not recovered. Therefore you cannot definitively say he was killed. You were lead to believe that is what happened, but never has it been confirmed.

Unless they change it so he never fell into the pit, his being alive is not a retcon.

      4. Also, labeling others as “real” or “fake” fans l like it’s fact when it’s actually an opinion is silly.

If my child didn’t grow up with the original movies but loves the current “retconned” version of the universe I’ll be damned if I allow someone to tell him he’s fake.

It’s a generational thing. We have our movies and what version we grew up with, and they’ll have Theirs. The only constant in this universe is change.

As another example, My favorite cartoon Growing up was Transformers. I followed it all the way up to Beast Machines, but after that lost interest. I don’t care or can follow any of the new incarnations of the show or even care for the cinematic movies. But I can appreciate how they’ve spun it for a new audience and generation and have kept it relevant nearly 40 years later.

You don’t have to like the new stuff or change. Just pay no attention to it and let the new generation pass judgement.

    1. In the last two years Darth Maul, Boba Fett, and Palpatine has been resurrected so Disney can sell stuff not because it makes any sense. It’s like Kathleen Kennedy called Marvel for advice, they didn’t bring back Dooku because no one buys a DarthTyranus toy.

      1. Nah, Darth Maul survived way early in the Clone Wars cartoon, Season 2 I think. Palpatine returned in the expanded universe way back in 1995 with the Thrawn trilogy. Whether we like it or not, Georgey boy loved clones and love resurrection stories.
