Looks like Steve Geppi is taking a more hands on role in his company Geppi Family Enterprises. The full press release follows:

Good Morning,

Today I am announcing an organizational change that will help us lean even further into the many opportunities to elevate our industry, our business and our brands in this fast-moving and evolving marketplace.

Effective immediately, I am reassuming the role of President, Geppi Family Enterprises (GFE), in addition to my position as Chairman & CEO. Stan Heidmann will be departing the organization. I thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

As you know, I have a strong history of growing and leading this organization for several decades and I am energized about our next phase. I am supported by an exceptionally talented executive leadership team with deep expertise and an unwavering commitment to our industry as well as by the incredible teams they have built. I am proud and privileged to work with such amazing people.

Under my guidance, the executive leadership team will support a comprehensive strategic review to position the enterprise for future growth. I feel a tremendous responsibility to our employees and the industry, and I fully intend to set all Geppi Family Enterprise brands on a path for robust growth. I am confident we have the right leadership with talented teams in place and I see enormous opportunities for GFE.

You will be hearing more from me in the coming weeks as I am committed to keeping you all informed and involved. Be well, and I hope you find some time this holiday weekend to relax and recharge. Thank you for your continued support. I appreciate all you do.

  1. A good start for Geppi would be to actually make some semblance of a narketing plan instead of some crappy, redundant letters and generic yellow labels.

I guess we’ll see how “flexible” his morals are now….

    1. Geppi vanished from the scene cause he held onto a monopoly. Now that the monopoly is no more, he’s gonna go and show up like the bastard father that he is in the comic book industry and do damage control. Sorry, that’s just how I read his letter. An exec “moving on” could very well mean, he’s jumping off the sinking ship. 🙂

      1. Yeah, it’s funny how Steveo stayed in the background for many years .. although he did do a good job spending the money and borrowing .. now, he apparently wants to try and salvage what’s left .. “Only I can save America ..”

Well, I guess you just can’t plan for a Pandemic .. however, the handling of the DC exit I will never excuse Diamond for .. they could at least negotiated for a smoother transition and maybe an end-of-the-year timeframe .. in addition, to do what DC did, when they did it, just added additional misery to many Retailers ..

        1. Sadly we’ll never know what was said to make DC leave the way they did but honestly, sounds to me like DC was done with them prior to any negotiations.. I can’t fault DC entirely until the whole story with facts and evidence is presented between both parties.

  2. Can Mr. Geppi lead his team out of the worm hole of a conundrum that he himself has caused due to his lack of industry foresight of which Covid-19 has exposed!!

Will they survive!!? Can they survive!!??
