Blind Adam’s Hidden Gems Vol. 124

Greetings my Comics Heating Up Family. Just a few quick thought. Stargirl is just a great t.v. show based on a comic book and Warrior Nun was fun as hell. Now lets make some money with some comics love you guys and thanks for being a great blessing in my life

1. Superman #366 – this might be the true first of Todd McFarlane in comics. As the letters page has a letter penned by the Toddfather. It is a cheap book and worth the hunt. This the first of the Toddfather?

2. Spitfire #4 – the Marvel New Universe is really bad. Most of the series are worth a dollar or less. This is an early art and cover by Todd McFarlane. I beleive all the early one off issues featuring Todd’s work are undervalued and worth diging in bargain boxes for books like this. His Marvel Tales run starting in Marvel Tales #223, Marvel Age #90 and others are only going to go up over time especially when the Spawn movie gets made happy hunting

3. Uncanny X-Men #270 second print – can you believe Jim Lee’s X-Men run is now thirty years old? Where does time go? With second prints all the rage, heck third prints, even 5th prints. Some books have twenty prints, looking at you Killing Joke, Bone, and Ren and Stimpy #1. Some of the copper age second prints are steals at the current prices, especially from hot legendary artists like Jim Lee this is around $5-10. I also dig the Ghost Rider #5 gold second print, has great art and a punisher appearance and cheap $5-10

4. Gwenpool Holiday Special #1 – I believe Gwenpool and Gwenom will be the next two characters to pop. For a great list check out weekend spec by Alana as it was a great Spidergwen, Gwenom, and Gwenpool list. This is just a fun holiday issue with Gwenpool. Gwenpool could use some cosplay love and there is a Paris comic-con J Scott Campbell variant of this as well so happy hunting

5. All Star Squadron #24 – first Brainwave. Henry King Jr. is amazing on the Stargirl tv show. The show is well done with great acting, great story, and great music. It is the best show on the CW. So picking up all the major keys around the show is a must. I wish I could find a Flash #139 but thanks to the show it is now a pricey key.  I believe by season two books the following keys will be wall books at shows and shops:
All Star Squadron #24
All Star Squadron #4 (first Dragon King)
Star and STRIPES #0
JSA All Stars #4 (Courtney becomes Stargirl)
Starman #80 Starman gifts Courtney the staff

6. Books of Magic #1 – did you see the trailer for Lucifer season five? It looks amazing and we are getting Lucifer’s brother Michael. St. Michael the archangel.

Well I am going to my brothers house time to give my four year old nenice her first comic books and some Legos and just chill and recharge stay safe and until next week

  1. I have a letter printed in a 90s Superman comic too. Collector’s item, you heard it here first, first true interior work of the great one!

  2. “this might be the true first of Todd McFarlane in comics. As the letters page has a letter penned by the Toddfather. It is a cheap book and worth the hunt. This the first of the Toddfather”

What would be more worthy is someone hung onto all his rejected submissions before he finally landed his first major art job at DC. Supposedly he submitted 700 or so submissions before finally someone gave him a chance.. I have a hard time calling this guy the Great One, yeah, he had some good covers and interiors but there’s so many other better artists out there.. before and after.

    1. The Great One is, and always will be, Wayne Gretzky. McFarlane is the Toddfather, eh.
