Poyo’s Indie Spotlight Book – November 2020

I love independent books. They truly are expressions directly from the mind of the creators without boundaries and limitations. Free from the corporate overlords that want to add their own input like we see with the larger publishers.

So I’m gonna start highlighting books that grab my attention that I’ll be picking up and checking out myself on my own hit list.

I’ll start with a book that hits stands next month. It’s actually already based on a movie that has gotten 96% Rotten Tomatoes reviews (75% audience reviews), which I have yet to watch but now it’s on the list of movies to check out as I’m a junkie for black and white films as well.

A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night #1 is a new title from Behemoth, with the movie having the same title.

Written by the director of the film of the same name rated 96% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a bastion of depravity and hopelessness where a lonely vampire, The Girl, stalks the town’s most unsavory inhabitants.

As it’s just another Vampire movie, this one seems like it’s got a twist to the traditional vampire movies we all know, love or hate.

Expect small print runs for this and this might just drag fans of the movie to check out the book once they learn of it’s existence.

You can order from TFAW while also Issue #2 is available for pre-order as well.

    1. I have never seen the Movie. Seen the solicitation for the book and the premise seemed good. Ordered 2 sets of each issue, both covers.

  1. I have always wanted to see the movie.
I saw about this recently and knew I needed to grab it.
As you say, theres definitely crossover potential.

  2. My wife ordered this a while back from my LCS. She loved the cover and didn’t even know what it was about or that it was based on a movie. She just likes the cover lol
