Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBaytrends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )

#1 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #110 BEN BATES 1:10 VARIANT (IDW, 2020) This issue heated up quickly when it showed a more extended preview of the much anticipated LAST RONIN series. In the preview, we see a hint that the Last Ronin (still unknown which Turtle) is possibly speaking to his dead brothers. This preview caused this variant to sell 30 copies, had a 7-day trend of 1,013% and had a high sale of $55 for a raw copy.

#2 MERCY SPARX #0 (DEVIL’S DUE, 2008) Hats off to those who have this issue. This has been a hard book to find for a while now. With last week’s announcement that MGM has filled up to book to develop for a feature film. With this recent news, it sold 18 copies, had a 7-day trend of 348% and had a high sale of $49.99 for a raw NM- copy.

#3 PAPER GIRLS #1 (IMAGE, 2015) As development progresses for this recently announced Amazon series (who is putting out some amazing material, like THE BOYS), collectors feel comfortable investing in this first issue. It sold 35 copies, had a 7-day trend of 105% and had a high sale of $100 for a CGC 9.8.

#4 X-MEN #4 (MARVEL, 1992) The rumor that Omega Red will be the “first” mutant (if you don’t count Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver… who were never called mutants) introduced in the MCU (via FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER) is still making the rounds. His first appearance sold 20 copies, had a 7-day trend of 173% and had a high sale of $169 for a CGC 9.8.

#5 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #300 (MARVEL, 1988) Wow, this first full appearance of VENOM keeps hitting new highs. It sold 23 copies, had a 7-day trend of 146% and had a high sale of $4,451 for a CGC 9.8. Now, if we can JUST get a VENOM 2 trailer…. Please?

#6 STATIC #1 COLLECTOR’S EDITION (DC, 1993) There’s overall “buzz” around STATIC. Fans are excited about seeing him in live-action. His recent content announcement continues to move copies with 23 Collector’s Editions sold, a 7-day trend of 107% and had a high sale of $123 for a raw (sealed) copy.

#7 GOTHAM ACADEMY #1 (DC, 2014) Maps Mizoguchi recently debuted as the newest Robin. Her first appearance, amongst many other first appearances, was in this issue. It sold 22 copies, had a 7-day trend of 112% and had a high sale of $175 for a CGC 9.8. Keep an eye on the Cloonan 1:25 variants. Those are currently in auction right now and will set the market on that cover.

#8 PHANTOM STARKILLER #1 (SCOUT, 2020) While the NYCC skyrocketed in price, this first issue was a surprise entry. While the overall sales of 13 copies seem low, there really weren’t many listed, suggesting that this series was hard to find at comic shops. It had a 7-day trend of 184% and had a high sale of $14.99 for a raw copy.

#9 WE LIVE #1 DUSTIN NGUYEN 1:15 VARIANT (AFTERSHOCK, 2020) A holdover from last week, this variant proved to be difficult to find yet still managed to sell 19 copies with a 7-day trend of 116% and a high sale of $45 for a raw copy.

#10 PHANTOM STARKILLER #1 NYCC VARIANT (SCOUT, 2020) Scout’s awesome buy-one-get-one sale which included their NYCC exclusives, allowed buyers to get two copies for $25… which hit a high of $300 for a raw copy, sold 11 copies and had a 7-day trend of 197%. This series is a fun read and the various covers are simply amazing. This love child of Star Wars and Masters of the Universe could have some legs.
