Variant Picks of the Week for January 20th, 2021

This was my drek but it’s also a pick of the week, only if you can snag at cover or cheap as it might turn into a nice flip.

Daredevil #25 2nd print 1:25 ratio variant.

My favorite variant of the week though goes to the new David Aja for Iron Fist Heart of the Dragon #1. Simplicity always wins me over if done right. Aja is the master of simple yet awesome cover art.

Even with all that open white space, still wins me over.

For you Frison fans out there, she’s got two ratio variants that you should keep a watchful eye for if you can find for cheap.

First up is the Doctor Aphra #7. Some schmuck is trying to sell a copy already for $250 BIN..   sigh.

And then we got the new BOOM! title Abbott 1973 #1 variant which I think is overall better than the Aphra above.

There’s another Abbott 1973 #1 by Raul Allen that is pretty cool.

Another simply done variant for the Expanse #2 (and better than the BW version) by Jonas Scharf has me keeping an eye out for this one as well.

Now on to the Momoko covers. She’s got a pretty cool Alien themed for Black Cat #2.

And I mentioned this one in my picks already but the Future State Immortal Wonder Woman #1 is pretty decent if you  ask me.

That’s all I got for variants this week. Tell us what you’re looking forward to here or on the forums by striking up a conversation.

  1. The Abbott 1973 variant won’t get anywhere close to the Doctor Aphra variant since the good Doc is selling for over $100 :-O

    1. The world will never know why either, just FOMO at best.. it’s not even her best work. There’s been one sold for $250 which is probably a shill bid/buy just to try and pump it more than it should be.

If I were to pick between the two though, I’d still pick up the Abbott, it’s just better art.
